just wondering i recently got married for the second time to a wonderful man that wants a baby of his own.I had my tubes tied because of my ex-husband.But now i want to have a baby for the man im married to now.He has no kids.This is my dream, is to have a baby by him.but the sad part is i have had my tubes tied since 1996.Do I still have a chance.

You would have to send us your HSG x-rays so we can evaluate the condition of your tubes. If each of the entire tube is damaged throughout the entire length of the tube then surgery will not be helpful. If the tube is only blocked on the end then surgery may be helpful.

I recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy through IVF. I was lucky enough to get pregnant on the first transfer of embroys, but a little sad at the fact that out of three being transfer only one made it. Even though I am grateful to have one healthy baby boy! Now, I came across this website and now I am wondering if it's possible to fix my tubal problem. My OBG doctor told me that the only way to conceive will be through IVF, but your website seems to give me hope to conceive naturally. I was told that my tubes were completely blocked and scarred due to salpingitis. If there is any kind surgery to help me conceive naturally?

Dorinda I wish you well. I had a reversal in 2005 and still pray that the Lord will work a miracle for me and I will have the joy of holding a baby yet again. Do you think i should start on fertility drugs as I have been trying to conceive naturally for the past four years?

I have a curious question. I am 40 years old and had my TR in Oct 2008 done locally where I live. However, had gotten an absetos (sic) at my incision shortly after the staples were removed. I am aware of the risks of tubal reversal because of my age; however, I recently had a HSG done and found out that my left tube is partially blocked and the right tube has a cyst (which has been there since November from another test performed). When I asked my doctor if there was a way to remedy this all they could suggest was IVF. We really don't want to go this route. We would like to do this the "old fashion way" and if that doesn't work then we have to accept that but for now I feel like we're being cheated out of our chance to do this on our own. Question is: Upon reviewing our records can you do something to open the tubes and remove the cyst possibly?

I am so happy to hear Dorinda’s story and I wish her luck. I also had My TR and was left with 4.0 cm and 5.0 cm tubes.At first I was sad. I thought that wasn’t enough tube considering that the normal tubes are at least 10 cm but I am leaving it to God. Hopefully I will be pregnant soon. I will pray for Dorinda and all of the other families to get their bundles soon. Thank you Dr.Monteith for all your work.

Is there a certain time limit you should wait before wondering if your tubes are blocked or not? Do you just tell your doc that you want to make sure their not & do a test?

Tubes that are blocked for reasons other than having them tied can often be repaired.

I had bilateral hydrosalphinx with spillage in one tube. The doctors cauterized both my tubes as ivf preparation.
Ever since my body is thrown out of gear. Just two months after operation, I have been spotting regularly and now am on birth control pills. I am in devastating state of mind. I no longer want an ivf but am interested in getting the process reversed. Is it possible???? Please reply at my email id sumitajains@rediffmail.com

You can send us the report from your tubal reversal surgery as well as the report and pictures from the HSG done in 2008. Essentially, your options are a tubal revision surgery or in vitro fertilization (IVF). If you send us your records we can review them at no charge and let you know your best option.

I had my tubes reversed back in 2000 and I have had the test to see if my tubes were open. In 2003, my tubes were opened and I got pregnant but we lost our baby.

In 2005, I had the test done again and it showed that my tubes were blocked.

In 2008, I had the test done again and it showed one tube completely blocked and the other one was blocked halfway.

Is there anything I can do to conceive a child with my husband now.

I am so blessed to have such a skillful doctor as Dr. Monteith. I thank God everyday of my sucess of being able to have both of my tubes repaired. My surgery was pain free and I didnt have any complications. I am still trying to have my Monteith Miracle baby, but I feel it in my heart and in my body that it will come very soon. I feel like a new women, being able to have the opportunity to have a baby again…. Children are blessings and no one should ever take that away from themselves or others. Here at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center we experience all types and methods of tubal ligation. Dorinda is a great example of how our staff’s and Dr. Montieth’s experience assisted the surgery.
