The only was to have your tubes untied is through surgery. The alternative way to have another baby is in vitro fertilization (IVF).

MARLENE – If both ends of the tubes were burned (next to the uterus and at the fimbrial end of the tube), it is unlikely that this is a surgically correctable situation, but it would be best to send a copy of your operative report to us to be reviewed.

Hi all, I had my tubes tied after my last child 5 years ago. I never thought I would like to have another baby. I recently got married and my husband would love to have a child. However I was told that my tubes were burned at both ends. Can that be reversed?

I’m not real good with the medical term, but I had my tubes done 3 years ago and it was performed by three tiny incisions and the laser. Would I still be able to try and have a procedure for reversal?

You can have tubal reversal surgery to have your tubes restored but your tubes will not come undone by themselves.

I am 43 years old and have a 23 year old daughter and a 7 year old son I got pregnant naturally both times after my son I got my tubes tied then we now want another one. My husband is the father of my son and we have been together 19 years this past January could you tell me we are not crazy, I have set the date for reversal for this Friday the 13th of March.

If you have had a tubal ligation there are only two ways to have children after your tubal ligation.

Tubal ligation reversal. At Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center this is a safe out patient surgery which can be very affordable for most women. On average, 70% of women become pregnant after tubal reversal.

In vitro fertilization (IVF). Costs between $9-12,000 per try with 30% success rate. Requires hormonal injections and multiple visits.
