When I went into labor with my last son, I was givin some kind of pain killer, not sure what it was, but I was quite out of it. Soon after they realized the baby was in the breach position and I needed to have a c section performed. I kind of remember my doctor in the room with papers, but thats about it. When I came out of surgery, I was told that my tubes had been tied. My doctor said to me.. If anyone asks just tell them that we had talked about this before and that you were counciled on the matter. I had never mentioned or talked about having my tubes tied with him, or anyone else. This was 7 years ago, the doctor that did this has passed away. I have always wanted more children.. but 3 months ago, our oldest son passed away. Nothing could ever take his place, but I would love to have another child. I looked into the prices of reversal, and things look bleak for us right now, but if I ever had the money, I would definitely have this procedure done.

Me and my husband had a son 10 months ago and I had the tubal ligation done but my dr really didn’t want to do it. When I went in for my 6 week checkup he asked me if me and my husband have been intimate and I told him yes and after that he told me that he had to check to make sure they were still tied. He also told me that it was only 75% chance effective and I had to sign papers. He also told me it takes up to a year for them to heal after having the tubal ligation. I’m not sure how he did the tubal ligation but why would he be so worried about my tubes since me and my husband were intimate 6 weeks after the surgery and why is the tubal ligation only 75% effective?

Once tubes are tied they do not become ‘untied’. There is always a chance of pregnancy…it could be normal but there is a higher chance it would be in the tube. This is an ectopic pregnancy and it is dangerous. You should take a pregnancy test and if it is positive see your doctor right away.

We do not have an age limit for tubal reversal. Although it does become harder to get pregnant with increasing age, approximately 1 out of 3 of our tubal reversal patients over the age of 40 will become pregnant. The oldest patient to become pregnant naturally was 47.

I had my tubes tied about 8 years ago but happened to get an ectopic pregnancy 2 years ago. It damaged my left side tube so the doctor had to remove my entire left tube. I have 2 children of my own but recently my bf and i have been talking about having a baby. Is it still possible for me to fall pregnant if i untie my tubes? We do not recommend tubal reversal after menopause because it will not be helpful to control your symptoms. Your hormone levels have decreased drastically but only because you have gone through menopause. This means your ovaries are not working or producing any significant amounts of hormones.

I had my tubes tied, and I don’t know which kind of
procedure was done, at age 40. I immediately started
menopause and have been going through menapause for
a very long time. I took myself off estrogen therapy
when I learned three years ago that I had gotten to
much estrogen and not enough provera which made the
uterus lining thicken. Can my tubes be untied at the age of 67 and if I do that procedure, will it my correct or stop menopausal symptoms of hot flashes? Does tying your tubes do anything to the body’s regular function that will cause a decrease in estrogen in the body in any way?

I had my tubes tied in January of 2001 after complications with a pregnancy resulting in delivery at 30weeks. Since TL I have had several miscarriages and and ectopic pregnancy in 2007 which resulted in loss of (L) falopian tube. Had die test done which showed dye spilling from side where tubed was removed. From my understanding almost medically unheard of. So went back in and had tubes clipped. Am I a good candidate for this given my history and I tube remaining. What are the chances of pregnancy with only 1 tube.

Tubal ligation reversal is a good option for you. Having had five c-sections you can become pregnant again; however, there is an increase chance the c-sections could have caused scar tissue to form and this could make your reversal surgery more difficult.

I got my tubes tied in 2003 after my second child I was 22 and both my kids are girls. I have been depressed ever since and all I want is another baby. Although multiple eggs can be released, this is not increase after tubal reversal. There is a weight limit that is dependent on your height, called Body Mass Index (BMI), and your BMI must be under 35 to schedule tubal ligation reversal. SHONDA – In order to become pregnant again after having your tubes tied, your options are tubal reversal surgery or IVF. Tubal reversal at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center is considerably less expensive than IVF. It also has fewer complications than IVF, but does increase the chance of having a tubal pregnancy.
