Gwen
We have many patients who come for reversal of one tube. Pregnancy is very possible and your chances would be about 60%.

Hello:) I just turned 44 years old. I had a laser tubal ligation the morning after my daughters birth, 21 years ago, she was my third child. My new fiancé and I are wanting to have a child together-what are the steps you take and the approx cost to find out what procedure is best for me?

Thank you Dr. Berger! We will wait until your facility offers the vasectomy--my sister had a successful tubal reversal because of Chapel Hill (which resulted in my beautiful niece), and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else to have these procedures done!

Kelly S. - You can have a tubal reversal and he can have a vasectomy reversal. At Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, we currently perform just tubal reversal procedures, but Dr. Monteith is planning to start offering vasectomy reversals here within the next 6 months.

I had my tubes tied about 8 years ago, and my boyfriend had a vasectomy about 8 years ago. We were both stuck in unhappy marriages and didn't want any more children with our partners. Neither of us counted on finding each other and being happy...or wanting a child of our own. What are our options for becoming pregnant?

I'm 37 and I have 3 children. I had a Tubal ligation and after getting remarried decided to have another child. We had a hsg test and I was told both tubes are blocked. Then my doctor recommend a laprascopy. She told me she couldn't even get to my right tube. I had about 5cm of tube on my left tube. She found a lot of fibroids and adhesions. She also found scar tissue. So after hearing all that I was told IVF was our only option. I left feeling discouraged beyond belief. My tubal ligation was done right after the birth of my last child the modified Pomeroy technique. I had read that that is the most common technique and my chances are good. We r thinking we r going to start IVF in April at Womack Army Hospital but my heart isn't in it. I want us to have our baby the natural way. I'm very confused I don't want to lose a chance at being a mom again

Carmen - Tubal reversal at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center has a pregnancy rate of over 75% for someone your age. IVF has a pregnancy rate of about 30-35%. Tubal reversal is less expensive and gives you the chance to get pregnant naturally every month without taking large doses of fertility drugs. Based on experience in performing over 10,000 reversal surgeries, I believe tubal reversal is the better procedure for you. If you have any questions, you can speak with a nurse at (919) 968-4656.
