Hi everybody..a little shocking news for me.I GOT A BFP!!
I had my first tr baby feb.7, my husband and I had decided right after the birth of our baby boy that we would try again..and after 6 months of no success we decided to put money into our house and be happy with the 4 kids that we now have.
I figured the chances of me getting pg were not great...I only have 1 tube and it took us a long time after the tr to get are first bfp. I even made a dr. apt. to start birth control last week!
Anyhow, I took a test yesterday and it is a BFP!! I am really excited and a little worried...everyone thought we were crazy to have are first tr baby! My dh is 49 and I am 33...I told my dh and he is very happy but I think he is feeling some of what I am feeling. We just invested alot of money into our house! I am really excited tho....I do not have a girl of my own and I would LOVE to have one, and a boy would be great too...I just love being a mom.

Congrats! I'm so excited for you! I was wondering if your DH has any issues/fears about being an older dad- and how did you help him get over them? Don't answer if that's too personal- it's just that I'm in similar age range- I'm 34 and my DH is 48. We'll be having TR in 17 days! Congrats again!

OH I would like to address the age thing.., I am 36 (shhhh) and DH is 53 and he is a great daddy. When they see that precious baby the last thing on thier minds is age. But I do encourage my DH too and comment on how healthy he is. He does go to the gym 3-4 times a week and I make sure i support that. Even if I really need him home. Lisa

I'm so happy to hear your story! Everything happens for a reason! I have two children, a six year old son and a soon-to-be 4 year old daughter. I had my tubal ligation done (clamps) when I was 22 years old. I got married to the love of my life this past August and we had our reversal done a week and a half later. (an appointment opened up unexpectedly so I jumped on it lol!) No luck yet, as it hasn't been that long, but we're trying To hear everyone's success stories lights that fire of hope inside of me that I thought had been ignited after my tubal ligation...congrats to the successful ones and best wishes to the rest of you! I'm really happy to be a member of this site

Thank you everyone for your support and help...I just LOVE this site!!!
mamasoup8- Congrats on the upcomming tr!! Tell your husband his age is of no matter!! My dh is such a great dad..and yours will be too! My dh is actually only 48(not that 1 yr matters) To be honest his age never really came up until OTHER people heard we were pg for are 1st tr baby...we just really wanted a baby with each other and didn't think about it much. Once we became pg we had a lot of critisism.. people said we were not being fair to the baby or are other children...my step mom actually came for a visit THIS weekend and actually said that we are crazy to had another baby (he is 8 months)and that later in life are baby will have it hard having parents that are so OLD (she means me as well..I am 33)and he may not have any parents later because people seem to die so young now. (Needless to say I didn't tell her we are now expecting are second tr baby..haha)
Anyhow..when we get people like that the "age" thing does come up. My dh and I feel that we can provide a loving and caring home for our children and any babies that we have. Because we are "older" I also like to think we are wiser(hehe)and just as capable as we were years ago of raising a baby...even more so with all are experience..lol. Anyways, please keep in touch and let me know how your tr goes...I'll be sending LOTS of baby dust your way!!
