TUBAL REVERSAL MESSAGE BOARD RULES AND POLICIES:

The Tubal Reversal Message Board is for existing and prospective patients of Dr. Gary Berger and Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center. This message board is to provide a forum for support and sharing information about tubal reversal surgery among this widespread community and Dr. Berger's staff at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center.

The Tubal Reversal Message Board is for discussing issues related to tubal ligation reversal. It is not the appropriate forum for discussions about non-related issues, IVF, or other doctors. Antagonistic, abusive, or profane messages will result in revocation of posting privileges.

Messages express the views solely of the authors of the messages and do not necessarily represent the views of Dr. Berger or his staff. We are not responsible for the contents of any message posted by a member.

MESSAGE BOARD ETIQUETTE

Stay on topic. Our forum is for discussion of Tubal Reversal and related subjects.

When starting a new topic, make the title descriptive and relevant.

Be patient. All the participants of this forum, including CHTRC Staff, participate on their own time. Please refrain from "bumping".

Do not post multiple copies of a message. Choose the most appropriate forum for your post.

Do not post new questions on a different topic on someone else's thread. Aside from being rude, your question may get lost in the shuffle.

Use proper spelling and grammar. Begin a sentence with a capital letter and end the sentence with a period.

Don't type subject headings or messages in all capital letters.

Do not give away personal information, which includes your surname, phone number or address. This is a public forum and others may use your personal information for unethical purposes.

Do not "flame". "Flaming" is insulting another user's post, opinions, subject, grammar or pretty much anything else in an attempt to pick an online fight. While debate and disagreement are fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or inflammatory posts.

Solicitations or commerical advertisements are forbidden.

Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable may contact us, and we will remove any messages we determine to be objectionable.

PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENT:

Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center respects the privacy and confidentiality of those who visit our message board and/or website. The message board is viewable by the public and is indexed by search engines. To preserve the privacy and confidentiality of information you post on the message board, choose a user name other than your real name. Refrain from posting your telephone number or email address since they will be in the public domain once posted.

Privacy refers to the right of the site visitor to choose whether to allow personal information to be collected by the host site or by third parties and to know what type of information is collected and how that information is used.

You provide this type of information voluntarily when you register for and use the Message Board or when you order a videotape of the tubal reversal procedure by Dr. Berger. When you do provide such personal information, we will protect your privacy and confidentially by not divulging this information without your consent or unless required by law.

If you identify yourself personally on the Message Board or by sending us an e-mail with questions, comments, or medical history, we may use the information you have provided in order to respond to your questions, comments, or medical history. We may file your comments for future reference or use or discard the information after we have reviewed it. Personal or confidential Information from e-mails, feedback forms, or message board will not be given to any third parties without your consent or unless required by law.

Personal Information on the Message Board:

Personal or confidential information posted on a message board of our website is in the public arena, viewable by anyone and therefore could potentially be collected and used by third parties as well be indexed by search engines.

There is little security for the information you post in these public forums. You disclose such information at your own risk. To protect your personal privacy you may create a user name for posting on the message board that is not personally identifiable.

Non-personal Information and Identification and Cookie Technology:

The Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center website and Message Board use "cookie" technology and/or IP address tracking. These involve the collection of non-personal identification information such as the domain name or IP address from which you access the Internet, the type of browser and operating system you used to access our site, and the website you came from if following a link to our site. The web host server log also automatically gathers information about the areas visited on our sites and about the links selected from within our site.
