Prior to the tubal reversal I was suffering from PTLS symptoms. We scheduled the surgery in hopes of relieving my symptoms. I’ve had my first period since surgery and it was already back to normal. Prior to my reversal I would go through 15 pads just in the first two days of my period and bleeding very heavily, and now it was down to about 3-5 pads for about 4 days. My cramps aren’t as bad either. I think it is a great sign that my other symptoms will get better as well. I will feel “Whole” again. Thank you, Dr. Berger, for giving me my health back! I feel like myself again.

I had my tubal ligation done 10 yrs ago after my youngest was born, the Dr asked me if i would like to have more children in the future (@ the time is was 24 3rd child) i said yes i1 day i would…Post surgery he told me he only clamped my tubes did not cut or burn n left about 10cm of tube, in case i wanted a reversal in the future…5yrs later, …very heavy cramping n periods, depression, baby blues, would take my niece for 10 days 1x a year to alleviate the hunger inside me for another Baby,….These symptoms are what they are n some dr’s will even diagnose it as Extreme PMS,..no 1 wants to diagnose post tubal syndrome..???
I am 24 and have had 4 children. I got my tubes tied after my c-section with my last little girl. No one told me that I would become a different person. My periods last 7-10 days when they used to be 3-4 days every month. I have cramps now, I never had them before and they are so painful, I take lortab pain pills so I can be drugged up enough I don’t have to feel pain. I also have cramps every single day for the past 2 1/2 years. My life is hell. I am so moody all the time and say whats on my mind and it is mean stuff. I have gained weight and have tried everything to loose the weight and it won’t go away, I have never had problems loosing weight when I wanted to and now I do. I have also got zits and I have never had a pimple before, now I have a lot of them and have tried everything and they will not go away. Sometimes I feel like dying. I told people what I thought was wrong with me and they said I was just getting older is why I’m going through changes like getting fat and having pimples. I have chosen to have the surgery. I hope my life goes back to normal. I pray to GOD every day for it.
I am 28 years old and I had a TL 6 months ago and the reason I am even viewing this site is because my husband suggested that I try to figure out if these symptoms I am experiencing are linked to my TL. He is actually tired of me asking him if this or that is normal, when honestly he has no clue!! He jokes with me because each month during the first two days of my cycle, I actually wear Depends along with an overnight pad in order to control the flow. Yes, it is that bad!! My cramps are not really bad during my cycle, but after it leaves, the cramps are unbearable! Mood swings, headaches, fatigue, nausea, back pain, and pain during sex (sometimes) are all of the symptoms I deal with on a daily basis. I am really upset that no one informed me of this, and I am only 6 months in. Prior to my TL, I was that woman who never had any female problems, never had any STDs, no abnormal paps, blood work was always great, and I have 4 children!!! So I know for a fact that these issues are linked to my TL.
I had my tubes tied immediately after a c-section. I don’t know what went wrong now I experience what feels like a pulled muscle in the lower right abdomen. If anyone has an explanation please let me know.

Many women can experience transient disruptions to their menstrual cycle after surgery and many people will have coincidental experiences around the time of surgery.
I just had a TL done about 3 weeks ago. Now I am experiencing abdominal pain and lower back pain. It just happened right after I finished my period…I wonder if this could be Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome?

This is not normal but can be experienced by women as they age or sometimes after a tubal ligation. You should talk to your doctor about possible reasons for what you are experiencing. You should have your thyroid and prolactin hormone levels checked as well.
You should also read a blog article we published about diagnosing problems after tubal ligation.
I am 28 and my husband and I have 5 children… the youngest are 1 year old twin boys. I have my tubes tied and was never told about any tubal ligation side effects. My periods for a year now have been one on month off the other, I have just recently gone with out having my period for 3 months and now I’m on it. I have had such bad stomach craps and lower back pain, it honestly feel’s the begging stages of labor that’s how bad it hurts. Is all of this normal, also I have been having blood clots, almost every time I use the restroom. Is this all normal?
