Shermekia we have a lot in common. I just turned 34 and also have 3 boys from a previous relationship. Two of my sons passed away and I never thought I would want more children. That changed when I met my husband 6 years ago and we married 5 years ago and he has no children of his own. I am so excited for your family. Yes my surgery was a bikini cut and it seems it gets smaller with time its about 2 1/2 inches. My pregnancy is going good so far. I am almost 6 weeks and scheduled for an ultrasound on the 7th. I am so happy for you! God Bless you and your family.

Laura, Thank you for responding. Your message is very encouraging. I have been researching tubal reversals for about 6 months now and I have heard nothing but excellent things about Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center. I called on the phone today and everyone was so helpful. I actually went ahead and faxed over my operative reports to Chapel Hill today for review and I am hoping for some good results that my tubes can be reversed. From the report it looks as if my tubes were just burned. I will be 30 soon and hoping to get married within the next year or two and my fiance and I want kids together. I have 3 from a previous marriage and he has one child and has never been married. I am very nervous and praying everyday about this and hope to be able to set my surgery date really soon. S/N How is your current pregnancy coming along? Also I wanted to ask you did they do a bikini cut to do the surgery?

Thank you Shermekia. My youngest son is 11 years so it was a good time span since my tubal ligation plus my tubes were cut, tied, and burned. I am very happy with my decision of Chapel Hill. I just graduated nursing school but the whole time during it I was looking into the reversal. I looked at Dr. Berger for over a year. I wanted someone who not only had a good back ground in his education and was professional but also had many years at performing the surgery. My mother-n-law has been a nurse for 25 years and I got her opinion as well.I felt like before I even got there I knew all the nurses and staff they are very personable. The hotel is beautiful! The day of surgery after wards I wanted to go looking I thought I was fine. My husband made me go rest though. The second day was the worst. It is not really that bad if you take your meds as prescribed my husband was only giving me the minimum pain medication. So I am sure I would have been fine with the prescribed dose. I didn’t realize till several days later I could have strangled him. I said you only gave me one when I could of had two. I think total from arrival time to surgery center to leaving was 4 hours. I had never had a C-section so I wasn’t use to the soreness of getting up and down afterwards for just a few days. Honestly the procedure was not bad and I would do it all over again. Dr.Berger is a gifted man!

Hello Laura, I am so excited for you and your family. I did a tubal ligation 4 years ago and am wanting to have my tubes reversed but I am so nervous. How was your experience at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center? Did you know or have a good reference before going? How long did the surgery take? Did you have any discomfort or complications during or after surgery? I look forward to hearing from you!
