Thursday, October 22nd, 2009 I just got back from Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center yesterday, and I must say that the whole experience exceeded my expectations. When I got there I was suffering from nervousness and “cold feet”, but that changed. The facility was clean and quiet, the staff all knowledgeable and very personable. Everything went very smoothly, and afterwards I felt such peace, knowing I had come to the right place.
Dr. Berger runs a tight ship! He has worked hard to make sure you get the best experience possible. I never would have been treated so kindly in a hospital. I especially liked that we stayed at the Sheraton, a far cry from a hospital-type experience. In less than 48 hours I was on my way home, and now I am here, in a minimal amount of pain, from which I expect to recover quickly if I take it easy for a few days. So, to anyone who is waiting and may be a little nervous, I just want to tell you that I had a good experience!

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 The staff at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center and Dr. Berger were excellent in every way. I would not change anything. I have suggested the office to two co-workers who are looking into the procedure. I feel I was treated with respect and was well informed. Thank-you so much for all you did for me and my husband.

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 I had my “Berger Baby” girl on October 25th, 2008. She weighed 8lbs.6oz. I just want to say how very happy I am to have made the decision to have the tubal reversal surgery. Dr. Berger did a perfect job! I would do it all over and over again.

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 I would like to take the time to thank you all for such a wonderful experience and for giving me the chance to have more children.
I must say that my experience at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center was the most pleasant one ever in a medical setting. From the IV (Lori – I didn’t even bruise on either hand), to waking up from the general anesthesia (Dr. Hertz has a magic potion I’m convinced – I have never woken up and not been sick after anesthesia in the past), to the easy recovery which I am experiencing now.
The team of professionals at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center have perfected each step the patient takes to make it as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
I hope to report a BFP in the very near future.
Thanks again.

Monday, November 3rd, 2008 Hi Jan,
It’s Lisa R. You took care of me on Wednesday, October 29th, with my husband Michael. I just wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for taking such excellent care of us. You made us feel extremely comfortable and at ease. You are such a caring person and it shows. Dr. Berger and Dr. Monteith are sure lucky to have you there. You are very professional but also very personal. Thanks for crying tears of joy with me when I found out that Dr. Berger was able to repair my tubes and get good lengths, seeing as we were not sure how it was going to go at all.
I just wanted to tell you that you definitely make a difference in peoples lives who come there with your warm and friendly personality.
I can’t thank you and your staff enough for all that you have done for me and my family. I will also update you on my PTLS symptoms soon and post for the PTLS study.
Thanks again for your gifted hands and heart.
With deepest thanks, and true sincerity,
Lisa and Michael R.

Sunday, October 12th, 2008 Dr. Berger:
I wanted to thank everyone for the truly superior treatment that we received during the time that we were at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center.
From the moment my husband and I arrived at the Sheraton, we felt like we were in good hands. The staff at the Sheraton made us feel very welcomed. They made sure that we were set up for the shuttle service the day of our procedure, ensured us that we had a late check out the day of our departure, and also made sure that our accommodations included a microwave and refrigerator. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. I don’t think you could ask for a better place to relax or recover from the procedure. They took care of us when we were too preoccupied to even ask the important questions i.e. what time do we need to be available for the shuttle? Many thanks to the staff at the Sheraton for taking care of us.
From the moment we arrived at the Tubal Reversal Center, we felt welcomed. Although things progressed very quickly, we never felt as though our care was lacking. Everyone answered all of our questions and fully informed us of the upcoming procedure. Julie and Donna made us feel so comfortable and informed us of everything that was happening. My husband was worried for my safety and well being but these ladies really put his fears at ease. He knew that I was in good hands! We never felt rushed or insignificant in any way. My care was foremost on the minds of the staff and we felt important and safe in their knowledge.
I came in that day with an incredible amount of pain in my leg from a long road trip the previous day and although it wasn’t related to the tubal reversal procedure, the staff did everything that they could to ensure my comfort. I was so impressed by that! Whenever I sighed or made a face of pain, they responded to me. Patient comfort and care is foremost on their minds. I was not treated as a number or “just another patient”. I was made to feel important and special.
Right before the procedure, I had Lori and Dr. Split care for me. Lori is a charming and caring person and really made the experience memorable for my husband and I. She made me feel so comfortable and safe and was so much fun to talk to! She laughed at all of my jokes! What more could I ask for? Her recommendation for Carolina BBQ was right on the money! I have typically had reservations when being put to sleep, however with Dr. Split there, I had absolutely no fear at all. He exudes experience and competence and I don’t even think that my heartbeat increased I felt so comfortable. I literally had no reservations about it. When I awoke, Lori was there again to make sure that I was well taken care of. She explained everything to my husband in a calming and relaxed way so that he remembered his “duties” later. She really took the worry and stress out of the situation and we especially thank her for that.
This experience was much more than I had expected. Typically, whenever you are dealing with any type of medical procedures, doctor’s offices, or clinics, there are good things and there are bad things (unfortunately more bad than good). This experience was nothing but positive for my husband and me. Everyone on the staff was welcoming, informative, and comforting. I wish that more people knew about tubal reversal as an option for them and what a positive experience it can be.
Thanks to everyone and of course, thank you Dr. Berger for having such a wonderful staff and offering this option to so many couples out there.
Best Regards,
Rebecca and Jason B.

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008 I’d just like to say that my experience at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center last Friday for my TR was outstanding. I could not have asked for more.
Lori, Donna, Pam, and Stephanie were absolutely amazing nurses! Each one made my husband and me feel welcomed and cared for. I can’t say enough about Lori as a recovery room nurse. She is one of a kind and a pleasure. Both my husband and I will never forget her fun and caring nature.
Dr. Monteith was more than I could have hoped for. He’s very soft-spoken, and you can tell he loves what he does. Thanks to him, my husband and I have regained what we mistakenly had taken away so many years ago. We are thrilled to have had Dr. Monteith help us with the opportunity to conceive a child again. We are looking forward to having our prayers answered and have our own little ‘Monteith Miracle’.

Sunday, September 21st, 2008 Dear Dr. Berger,
There isn’t a thing I can say that hasn’t been said to you, but I do want you to know how much I appreciate you and your staff for what you’ve done for me. That was an experience I’ll never forget, and what a shame other medical facilities aren’t run the way yours is.
You’ve given me a shot at something I never dreamed was a possibility, according to others I’ve spoken to, so no matter what happens, you are valued very much by all of us.
Thank you so much, and about the ratemds.com site…. can I still go there and leave you rave reviews, or is that something that was only temporary? I’d love to post something special about you and your wonderful staff.
Thank you so much!

Addendum: Here is the message I posted on ratemds.com:
I can’t say enough about Dr. Berger and his staff. He’s the most gifted man I’ve ever seen, and all at his clinic were professional, compassionate and caring. Everyone has a job to do, and they do it in the perfect rhythm. You’re done before you know it, and what Dr. Berger gives each of us is nothing short of a miracle. I’ve worked in the medical field most of my life, but Dr. Berger is the best surgeon I’ve ever seen. He gave me a chance at a miracle, and I don’t intend to disappoint him. Thank you, Dr. Berger!

Sunday, September 21st, 2008 I want to write and tell everyone there at Chapel Hill “Thank You!”. My entire experience at Chapel Hill was so wonderful.
I had never had an elective surgery before. The only other surgery I had ever had was an emergency c-section. I was terrified of everything that may or could go wrong, and I am not one for trusting many people in the medical industry. The entire atmosphere at Chapel Hill was calm and everyone had so much patience! I just can’t thank you enough!
I had done all of my homework into having a TR for the past 3 years. I was continually drawn back to your website. I am so thankful I listened to my heart and made the choice to come to your facility! I would deeply recommend your facility to anyone and would be happy to talk with someone who may be just as apprehensive as I was.
You are the only doctor I found not to overlook the symptoms of post TL. I thought I was in a world of my own and that maybe my doctor (at the time) may be right and all the symptoms I had had, were in my head like he was telling me. I can’t tell you how much it meant to read all of the entries on your message board and to know there were other woman who suffered from the same symptoms. You should be commended for actually listening to your patients and doing the research into PTLS that, apparently, no one else wants to bothered with.
I don’t know if we will have more children or not. I hope to, but, more importantly, I knew I wasn’t willing to live with my body the way it was after TL until menopause.
I have been amazed at how much less painful of an experience the surgery was from my c-section. I returned to work 3 days after surgery. (I am fortunate enough to have a desk job) Today is day 9, and I hardly feel like I had a surgery. I have not had one migraine head ache since I left Chapel Hill. I can’t remember a time in the past year that I hadn’t had a constant headache. I had begun to think these were associated with the stress level of my job. Again, I can’t thank you and your staff enough! Please feel free to use me as a referral to anyone. You are welcome to give them my phone number or e-mail, so they may feel free to contact me. Sincerely,
Sandra B.
