| Rachel RN | Dear Sarah, I was so touched to read your lovely message. It is this kind of feedback that makes me glad to be a nurse, proud to work where I do, and happy to provide the individual care and attention human beings need. One never knows if the person we are interacting with has been the victim of abuse or had terrible tragedies in her life, and it's always a good idea to just assume everyone has his or her own story and deserves to be treated with compassion. This kind of care is pro-woman and pro-human. On another note - thank you for your comment about there being no TV in our facility. This is something I have always appreciated about Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, though I realize some patients and family members may wish we had one. Recently I went into my bank and saw that they now have a television on at all times - there is no getting away from it. TV results in distraction, noise, a less professional atmosphere and one less focused on providing quality care. I happen to really love the peace and quiet we are usually able to achieve in our facility. When accompanying adults spend their waiting time reading quietly or simply relaxing, it serves as a break from the noisy reality that we face almost everywhere else, allows them to focus on their loved on, and all of the staff is calmer. Best wishes and thank you again for making my day. Rachel Heller, RN | |
| Gary S Berger MD | Dear Sarah: Thank you for your kind message and feedback. I am glad that you and your husband felt comfortable and had a good experience at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center. I do know how important it is to be treated with respect and privacy, especially when undergoing surgery. I will pass on your nice comments to the rest of our staff. | |
| Charlyn | Congratulations Sarah, I think that what you did was very unselfish and wise. Praise God that He has made a way to restore your fertility. Thank you for sharing and Have a Happy Easter. I am celebrating the resurrection of my Savior today. | |
| February12 | Sarah, You are so sweet. The day I had my TR, there was another lady there having a TR. She had never had children prior to her TL and she was in an abusive relationship too. She finally broke free and married her prince charming. I have read several testimonies on this board of women that chose the same thing you did. You are not alone. I pray that you get your little miracle very soon. God bless, Marge | |
| Sarah G. | Dear Dr Berger, What I noticed about you and your practice is that you and your staff come across as very "pro-woman." Being a woman is sometimes so complex, and in your practice that is understood. My husband very much also appreciated the way his modesty was taken into consideration. When a new patient was taken into the recovery room, the door was closed to protect everyone's modesty. When my husband started to dress me, a nurse came in and asked if he was comfortable doing so, or if he needed a nurse to continue. We live in a large city (Miami) where modesty is taken for granted and it was so nice to see that everyone in the clinic respected the patients' modesty. The dressing gowns covered all necessary spots and there was no unnecessary flashing of body parts. I was also pleased to see that the waiting areas did not have any tv. This made for a very calm and introspective time. I had my tubal ligation performed without having any children. I was in an abusive relationship I did not see myself being able to leave. To protect any innocent children from being raised in hell I did what I knew I had to do. After leaving that relationship, doing years of therapy and marrying my best friend I decided to have the TR. Not once did the doctor or any of his staff made me feel "stupid" for having a TL prior to kids. I never felt like I was being judged. I was treated as the intelligent and wise person that I am. God bless you and your loved one, Dr Berger. You are one of the many blessings that flows from Him. | |
