Can Tubes Come Undone? – Testimonial #1575

Some women believe their tied tubes can come undone after several years. This is incorrect. Although there is a small risk of tubal ligation failure (1 out of every 250 procedures), tubes that are tied do not come loose.

When a fallopian tube is tied the suture will cause the tube to permanently close in the area where the suture was placed. After the tubal ends heal closed the ends of the tube will then separate and the suture will dissolve.

Tubes cannot come undone but they can be rejoined through tubal ligation reversal surgery. A recent patient had success with tubal reversal surgery and she sent us this brief message and a photo of her beautiful little girl:
