| Gracie00007 | That is a GREAT question! I am having my TR Nov 14th and can not wait to meet everyone at CH. My decision was based on several variables. I researched Dr. Berger's background completely. You really could not ask for more impressive credentials and experience in a physician/surgeon. He is simple the best man for the job! Dr. Berger and CH staff have done a superb job addressing every single question or concern and answered it throughly leaving no inkling of trepidation with the decision I have made. And of course, kudos go to my TR sisters, who have also guided me and answered other questions openly giving me first-hand experiences which were so invaluable. I think you will find alot of women here would say, "I wish my regular doctor was like Dr. Berger and staff" - well as least that's how I feel. Plus, I have said this several times, it absolutely amazes me that Dr. Berger takes the time to read emails and answers them. Just yesterday, I wrote about preparing for the surgery with my Nov TR sisters and asked briefly about Keflex (an antibiotic) and there he was answering the question. You get me everytime Dr. B!!!! Finally, I am at total peace with my decision and hoping for the chance of having one more baby. The TR is NOT A GUARANTEE that you will become pregnant but it will give me more chances than the IVF " one shot deal" and I am correcting a mistake that I made to make myself whole again. I have approached this with a healthy, positive attitude and don't have unrealistic expectations. Best wishes and peace with whatever decision you make, Grace | |
| Webmaster | How to recognize the best doctor Choosing the best doctor is the most important decision to make when having tubal reversal surgery. According to members of the Tubal Reversal Message Board, these factors will help you make the best choice: the doctor's credentials and experience; the number of tubal reversal surgeries that he performs on an ongoing basis; testimonials from previous patients about their experiences with the doctor and his staff; responsiveness of his staff to questions before surgery; follow-up after surgery and during early pregnancy; availability of detailed information about all aspects of the care provided; statistics about pregnancy rates and pregnancy outcomes; and cost. | |
| dianaldickherber | OMG! I love answering these questions! I have so much I could say about Dr B and his staff, but that would take a whole book, so I will try to be brief! I chose Dr B because after researching all of the other Dr's out there, I knew in my heart of hearts, that Dr B was special. I was not impressed with the way the other doctors presented themselves or the childish illustrations they post on their website against other doctors, especially against Dr B. Do you know why they do this? Because they know Dr B is the best and they will do whatever they have to do to step on him to make themselves look good. It is very unprofessional the way they carry on. One of the other known Tr dr's is only 5 hours east of me, I am in Missouri, but I drove 14 hours to Dr B instead because I knew he was the best choice for me and I did not like the way he (the other dr) criticized other doctors. If you notice, Dr B does not have to carry on this way because his work speaks for itself. I can email Dr B and/or his staff at anytime and they ALWAYS get back to me and 90% of the time it's immediately. They don't just do your TR and forget about you. I had my TR 4 yrs ago, and they are still here for me through all of my highs and lows. I call or email all the time for advice, and they have never steered me wrong! I had my TR 11-15-01 and am currently PG with my 3rd TR PG. I have one TR baby who is almost 2 1/2, 2nd one was a m/c (which has nothing to do with a TR), and am a little under 5 weeks with my 3rd! Dr Berger and how my TR has changed my life encouraged me to write a book on Tubal Reversals. It is filled with about 35 stories from patients of Dr B and as you read each chapter, you can feel the emotion these women have for Dr Berger and all he does for us! Just read the testimonials on his website and you can see for yourself what we all have to say about him! The other dr's may appear to have thousand of people on their message boards, but they are automatically subscribed to it to boost numbers. If you don't see thousands here, it's only because they are all so busy taking care of all their Berger babies!!! To go with Dr B is a WIN/WIN situation! I could carry on forever, but I am sure you get the idea! Best of luck to you! Diana Dickherber Author of Tubal Reversal Our Journeys press.tubal-reversal.net/tubal-reversal-our-journeys.htm | |
