WHERE TO STAY AND TRANSPORTATION
RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA

We would like surgery at our center to be considered more of a life’s special experience and less of a medical procedure.

To help with this goal, we have well trained staff who provide dedicated patient care in an attentive environment. We have also selected the best hotel for our patients in one of the best areas in Raleigh where everything required is within walking distance.

Recommended Hotel: Hyatt House Raleigh

We highly recommend patients stay at the Hyatt House Raleigh. This hotel is considered a mid-priced hotel.

The Hyatt House is located in North Hills Mall and is the closest hotel to our office.

tubal-reversal-patients-stay-hyatt-house-raleigh All of the best restaurants, pharmacies, and shopping/entertainment areas are within walking distance of this hotel.

Patients who stay at this hotel will have the best experience because everything is convenient. Although the hotel is a short distance to our office, patients will require car transportation between our office and the hotel.

We have negotiated special rates with the Hyatt House so the prices are lower for our patients who stay at this hotel.

At the time of surgery scheduling, our office will email you a link to use for hotel reservations. This special link will allow you to schedule the negotiated reduced rate.

Do not call the hotel directly and try to schedule at the reduced rate.

We advise you book your hotel as soon as you schedule surgery because this hotel is extremely popular and fills up fast. Reserving a room at  the last minute can be difficult… so don’t wait.

Reversal Patient Hotel Policy

Reversal patients will need to stay a minimum of three (3) days and two (2) nights in Raleigh when having surgery at our center.

Our hotel policy requires patients to stay at one of the hotels we have selected. All of the hotels are close to our office and we have a wide price range suitable for most patients.
We recommend patients stay at the Hyatt House Raleigh, but we have also expanded our list of acceptable hotels to accommodate those who want a cheaper lodging alternative.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport

Raleigh-Durham International airport (RDU) is located 9 miles away from our surgery center. RDU serves as the central airport for the Triangle Area; Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.

Direct flights to RDU can be conveniently made from many major US cities. Most major airlines, including Southwest, American, US Airlines, United, Delta and others have flights into RDU.

For more information about cities with direct, non-stop flights into RDU: Non-stop destinations to RDU

Ground transportation from Raleigh-Durham International Airport

If transportation from Raleigh-Durham International airport is required, Raleigh-Durham Airport maintains an extensive listing of transportation services available at the airport: Ground Transport |Raleigh-Durham International Airport

We recommend Uber or Lyft as the best options for travel during your stay in Raleigh.

If you would like prearranged private car transportation from the airport to the hotel then we highly recommend White Horse Transportation.

What Our Patients Are Saying

“We had our surgery on 3/18/15 and on 02/02/16 our 7 pound 11 oz baby girl was born! I’m 34 years old and had tubal ligation done via clamps 8 years prior so this surgery really does work! 8 years later I had the reversal and 9 years later we were blessed with our little girl! So many doctors tried to talk us out of it-wanted us to do IVF to get our money-however praise God we went with this because it does WORK! Dr M is amazing and his staff! The area is beautiful where his office is, and if you do this procedure it will be the best money you ever spend!”

– Charlee-Belle M., Surgery

“From the very first phone call, the staff at A Personal Choice has been amazing! They have answered our numerous questions, concerns and have been amazing. They never give you false hope, but give you the complete story. I am so happy that we chose Dr. Monteith and his staff to make our dreams a reality. Can’t wait to start trying to have a baby. I would and have recommended Dr. Monteith to ANYONE wanting a tubal ligation or vasectomy reversal. Thank you all so much for giving us this chance!”

– Angela W., Essure Reversal

“Excellent service overall! Each stage of the process was carefully explained in great detail: how the procedure works, what to expect during the procedure, what to expect after, possible side effects. Dr. Monteith himself is very knowledgeable and experienced and quite personable too. He has a great sense of humor and uses it generously to put patients at ease. I highly recommend him and his staff to anyone considering either a vasectomy or a vasectomy reversal.”

Chris B., Vasectomy Reversal

“The perfect little angel that I’m holding in my arms right now is the best testament to what Dr. Monteith and his staff do for people. We could not be happier with our decision to use Dr. Monteith. His staff are just amazing. Our entire experience was just a dream! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!”

I live in Florida, my tubes where cut and burned when I was 18 years old. My 2 pregnancy where c-section. That was 8 years ago. My periods are normal that last 5 to 7 days. What is the percent of possibility that the operation will be success.

    Dr. Monteith Reply

The chance of pregnancy after reversal averages 60% but depends on your age and the type of tubal ligation.

We should be able to reverse your tubes. You should consider our screening laparoscopy because of your history of c-sections and the possibility of scar tissue.

We charge $6,900 for tubal reversal surgery. You should send us your records from your tubal ligation for a free review. Sometimes patients cannot get their records. Even if you cannot obtain your records we would perform tubal reversal for you because we can reverse most tubal ligations most of the time.

Tubal reversal can be 60% to 70% effective. The other treatment to become pregnant is In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) and this treatment cost averages $14,000 and is about 40% effective for each try.

Tubal reversal is possible when you have a history of multiple c-sections. We have many patients who have successful reversal and pregnancy with a history of c-sections. The biggest concern with multiple (3 or more) c-sections is the possibility of severe scar tissue. If severe scar tissue exists then reversal may not be possible.

We estimate that about 1 out of 12 women with 3 or more c-sections will have severe scar tissue that can make tubal reversal more challenging and in some cases not possible. For these patients we offer a screening laparoscopy. You can consider this similar to a surgery insurance policy.

The laparoscopy costs an additional $1,750.

If you choose to have a screening laparoscopy we can look with a camera during the surgery and see if you have severe scar tissue. If you have severe scar tissue we can often make a different incision…so this can increase the success of your procedure. If your tubes are not repairable or the scar tissue is too severe then we would offer you a refund of your surgical fee.

We specialize in Essure reversal and Essure removal surgery. We can reverse Essure and give you the chance of pregnancy….or we can remove Essure and leave your tubes closed. The chance of pregnancy after Essure reversal is about 40%.

    More information: Essure reversal testimonials

The cost for the Essure reversal procedure and the Essure removal procedure is the same… $7,500. We are located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Please be aware that starting April 1st 2019 the fee for Essure reversal surgery will increase to $7,900 and the scheduling fee will increase to $150. If you want to avoid the higher fees then you should schedule your surgery before April 1st or start a Reversal Prepayment Account.

No other clinic or doctor has the experience we do. The chance of pregnancy after Essure reversal is about 40%. If you are having symptoms that started soon after Essure most patients report improvement after removal of the devices. We do have a surgery prepayment plan.

More information: Successful Essure reversal with Dr Monteith

We charge a total of $7,500 for Essure reversal/removal plus $125 to schedule surgery. If you use our prepayment plan then you can contribute any amount as you are able but you must have the surgery paid for by three years. We do work with two financing companies and we do have a prepayment plan.

Do we have to fly and use the transportation or can we drive and have some do the driving after surgery?

    Dr. Monteith Reply

Many of our patients dive. You are not required to use the hotel car. It is required that you stay at one of the two hotels we designate. The links to register at these hotels will be provided to you at the time of scheduling.

Heather Reply

If I have family down in Raleigh would it be okay to stay there if I were to have the reversal done at your facility?

    Dr. Monteith Reply

    Heather
If you have reversal at our facility you must stay in one of the two designated hotels. Even patients who live in Raleigh stay at the hotels. This is for patient safety. If you have not checked into the hotel your surgery is cancelled and you would lose your entire surgical fee.
