It is situated in the middle of the state, halfway between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. Chapel Hill and the nearby cities of Raleigh and Durham collectively makeup the "Triangle".

What's happening?

Chapel Hill has a multitude of restaurants, taverns, clubs and theaters. Different eating places throughout town are like hidden jewels, reflecting the different moods, cultures and flavors of our area.

The town also shares with Carrboro a vibrant music scene. Cat's Cradle in Carrboro is often rated as one of the best clubs in the country for live music, and Local 506 and other Chapel Hill bars (such as the Cave and Reservoir) often host local, national, and international acts in all genres. Chapel Hill has been a center for the modern revival of such bands as the Hollow Rock String band, the Two Dollar Pistols, the Fuzzy Mountain String band, Big Fat Gap and the Red Clay Ramblers.
