Paying for Essure Removal Surgery

Opening a Reversal Prepayment Account is a great way to save for Essure reversal or Essure removal surgery.

Patients considering Essure reversal to become pregnant or Essure removal to treat abnormal symptoms can take advantage of our Reversal Prepayment Account (RPA) as a unique way to save for surgery. When patients have saved the full surgery fee then they can schedule surgery with the confidence they are the best candidates for surgery.

The prepayment plan is unique to our practice and allows our patients to avoid the high financing charges associated with most medical financing plans.

Making Essure Removal More Affordable

Although removing Essure for abnormal symptoms or reversing Essure to become pregnant is expensive, our outpatient procedure allows patients the chance to become naturally pregnant, obtain treatment for Essure related symptoms, and avoid having a hysterectomy for Essure related problems. Outpatient Essure removal surgery is more affordable than in-vitro fertilization and avoids the costs and risks associated with hysterectomy.

Ive been having horrible symptoms with the essure. They can never seem to find out what it is and my only conclusion is the essure. I want it removed. I also had the novasure procedure done since getting that done as well. Does that mean no more babies? I would love to have another. I feel like the essure was a big mistake due to pain all the time.

Tubal reversal and pregnancy are possible if you are having regular periods of at least 3 days duration after your ablation.

If you are not having periods then we would not consider you a candidate for reversal. There is no medical treatment to make your periods return.

Ablation will decrease the chance of pregnancy because it permanently damages the lining and muscle of the uterus.

If your periods are light then you do have some functioning endometriumm but we are not always certain if it is enough to allow for pregnancy. There is no accurate way to be certain.

We cannot provide an accurate percentage about the success of women getting pregnant after reversal with a prior ablation because there are no large scale studies looking at this. We have had women become pregnant naturally after tubal reversal with a prior ablation but don’t have a large enough group of these patients to provide meaningful statistics.

Studies looking at women who have become pregnant after ablation show that about 50% will miscarry and about 50% will have live born babies.

You should read these six articles I wrote about ablation, reversal, and the risks of pregnancy: Tubal Reversal and Ablation

The ablation will decrease the chances of pregnancy but if you are having regular monthly periods of at least three days duration then pregnancy is certainly possible. If you are not having regular periods then I would advise against a reversal because pregnancy is not likely.

In general pregnancy is not recommended after ablation because each pregnancy is at higher risk; miscarriage, growth restriction, early delivery, c-section and adherent placenta. The literature suggest that pregnancies are high risk but many will do well. It is possible to become pregnant after tubal reversal and have a healthy pregnancy if you are having regular periods of at least three days duration every month. Please call us at (919)968-4656 if you have any additional questions about tubal reversal.

All patients with ablations need a consult with me (Dr Monteith) either by phone or in person before they can schedule reversal surgery.

What health plan will cover this essure removal cause I have nasty pain on my tubes…

    1. Dr. Monteith says:

Most health insurances will only pay for hysterectomy.

If you have the state plan you still have to open an RPA account ?

    1. Dr. Monteith says:

Health insurance will not pay for tubal reversal. The RPA is optional for people who want to save towards having tubal reversal surgery. Give us a call at (919)968-4656 if you want to talk more about tubal ligation reversal surgery.

This prepayment opportunity is a great option. I have suffered for 5 years due to the essure device.I don’t have insurance and can’t afford to take out a medical loan. Finding your site and this opportunity has really brightened my day. Although I’m scared I look forward to scheduling a free consultation and eventually having these harmful things removed. While researching I’ve read the coils can migrate, will the doctor do a CT or any kind of x-Ray to find out if my coils are still in place.

    1. Dr. Monteith says:

We don’t routinely recommend an x-ray unless you are having a major issue. If you had the Essure confirmatory HSG then you should not need another x-ray. If you did not have the Essure confirmation test then you should have your doctor order a simple abdominal x-ray before yo come for reversal.
