Dr. Monteith is the Medical Director of A Personal Choice. Dr. Monteith exclusively provides sterilization reversal surgery and surgery to correct blocked tubes. Dr. Monteith also performs vasectomy reversal and Gentle Touch Vasectomy (no needle, no scalpel vasectomy). He has over 15 years of experience as a fertility surgeon and is responsible for many successful surgeries. Under the skilled hands of Dr. Monteith many patients will obtain their goals of pregnancy or relief of symptoms after having tubal surgery.
Nurse Hudak is our Nurse Administrator. She specializes in surgical scheduling but can perform all the job duties of a reversal nurse. She is often the first calm, knowledgeable voice to answer specific questions about medical issues or provide technical details about surgery. She will often be there to greet patients during their pre-operative consultation and also at their post-operative evaluation. Nurse Hudak provides patients a steady and stable presence during all aspects of surgery at the center.
Mrs. Heramia-Monteith is the Practice Administrator and Chief Financial Officer. She is in charge of overseeing Human Resources, Accounting, and assisting the Business Office with daily activities. She provides the energy and enthusiasm to keep the center running smoothly. She is often behind the scenes and hard at work. Most patients will not meet her during their stay with but she has a tremendous work effort and is the glue that keeps the reversal team together.
Kaycee is our Business Office Supervisor. She is originally from Puerto Rico, has lived in the United States for thirteen years, and is fluent in Spanish. Kaycee is a tremendous asset to our practice because of her Spanish speaking skills. She has an Associates Degree in Interpretation and Translation and a Medical Interpretation Certification. Spanish speaking patients can take comfort in knowing Kaycee will assist them with translation and will serve as their guide before, during, and after surgery. Kaycee, with her upbeat personality, has been a great asset for our office and our patients.
Oyuki Gabriel: Medical Administrative Assistant
Oyuki is a member of our Business Office Staff. She is originally from Veracruz, Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. Previously she worked in real estate but decided to join our office because she wanted to work to help Spanish-speaking patients navigate the complexities of our health care system. She is currently obtaining a Medical Interpretation Certificate. In her spare time, she teaches Sunday school and provides piano lessons. Oyuki is a tremendous asset to our practice because of her easy going personality and her proficient Spanish speaking skills.
Nurse Price is a Tubal Reversal Scheduling Nurse and is the newest addition to our staff. Nurse Price has 15 years of neonatal intensive care nursing experience with both Duke and Rex Hospital systems. She is the mother of three children and in her spare time she loves to run, participate in triathlons, and garden. She chose to leave the stressful life of a neonatal intensive care nurse to work in women’s reproductive health. She hopes to achieve a better work/life balance and looks forward to more adult interaction.
Nurse McKellar is originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina and is a dedicated South Carolina Gamecock fan! She now lives in Raleigh and joined our staff after working as a nurse on the WakeMed trauma surgery floor. Nurse McKellar is dedicated to helping our patients restore their natural fertility and the hope of having more children. She has been a welcome addition to our staff and she is available before, during, and after surgery to assist you with questions and concerns. When not working her hobbies include crafts, crocheting, and taking care of her two Border-Terrior puppies, Darby and Oscar!
Ms. Smith graduated from Miller-Motte Technical College with a Surgical Technology Associates degree. She is our lead surgical technician and is responsible for our efficient operating room services.
Ms. Smith is from Clayton, North Carolina. She has two young children and she loves to travel and eat soul food!
She is a stable presence in the operating room and she is critical to the success of our reversal surgeries.
Chauniqua Williams: Surgical Technician
Ms. Williams recently graduated from Miller-Motte Technical College with a Surgical Technology Associates degree and is the newest addition to our surgical staff. Prior to becoming a surgical technologist she has experience working in the hotel and service industry.
Ms. Williams is from Raleigh, North Carolina. She has a young daughter and she loves to watch movies, bowl, and spend time with her daughter. She is a stable presence in the operating room and she is critical to the success of our reversal surgeries.
Nurse Tim Suttles is the lead Nurse Anesthetist for our center and has years of experience as an anesthesia provider. He is an accomplished instrument rated pilot, has completed several Iron Man Triathlons and many major marathons. One can readily understand the amount of dedication, training, and attention to detail it takes to be an instrument rated pilot and a high endurance athlete. Nurse Suttles brings this same amount of dedication and attention to detail when providing anesthesia care to our surgery patients.
Although technically not a staff member of A Personal Choice, Mel is the owner of North Hills Transportation Company. He is responsible for providing private car transportation to patients from the hotel to the surgery center.
