Dr. Charles W. Monteith
Dr. Monteith is the Medical Director of A Personal Choice. Dr. Monteith exclusively provides sterilization reversal surgery and surgery to correct blocked tubes. Dr. Monteith also performs vasectomy reversal and Gentle Touch Vasectomy (no needle, no scalpel vasectomy). He has over 15 years of experience as a fertility surgeon and is responsible for many successful surgeries. Under the skilled hands of Dr. Monteith many patients will obtain their goals of pregnancy or relief of symptoms after having tubal surgery.
Mary Jo: Nurse Administrator
Nurse Hudak is our Nurse Administrator. She specializes in surgical scheduling but can perform all the job duties of a reversal nurse. She is often the first calm, knowledgeable voice to answer specific questions about medical issues or provide technical details about surgery. She will often be there to greet patients during their pre-operative consultation and also at their post-operative evaluation. Nurse Hudak provides patients a steady and stable presence during all aspects of surgery at the center.
Mary H: Practice Administrator
Mary H. is the Practice Administrator and Chief Financial Officer. She is in charge of overseeing Human Resources, Accounting, and assisting the Business Office with daily activities. She provides the energy and enthusiasm to keep the center running smoothly. She is often behind the scenes and hard at work with the staffing schedule and office accounting. Most patients will not meet her during their stay with but she has a tremendous work effort and is the glue that keeps the reversal team together.
Oyuki: Lead Business Office Administrative Assistant
Oyuki is a member of our Business Office Staff. She is originally from Veracruz, Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. Previously she worked in real estate but decided to join our office because she wanted to work to help Spanish-speaking patients navigate the complexities of our health care system. She is currently obtaining a Medical Interpretation Certificate. In her spare time, she teaches Sunday school and provides piano lessons. Oyuki is a tremendous asset to our practice because of her easy going personality and proficiency in Spanish.
Oscar: Business Office Administrative Assistant
Oscar is the newest member of our Business Office Staff. Oscar moved to North Carolina after having previously lived in New York. Prior to joining our office, Oscar worked with a personal injury attorney. He decided he wanted a career change and this is when he took a position in our Business Office. Oscar enjoys helping patients navigate the complexities of fertility treatment.
Oscar is fluent in Spanish and he has greatly helped us with our Spanish speaking patients. When you call or visit our office it is hard not to notice how friendly and easy going Oscar is with patients and visitors. In his spare time, Oscar likes to spend time with his wife trying different restaurants, sampling different types of food, and watching movies. Oscar has been a great addition to our practice because of his humble nature and willingness to help others in need.
Barbie: Tubal Reversal Scheduling Nurse
Nurse Barbie is originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina and is a dedicated South Carolina Gamecock fan! She now lives in Raleigh and joined our staff after working as a nurse on the WakeMed trauma surgery floor. Nurse Barbie is dedicated to helping our patients restore their natural fertility and the hope of having more children. She has been a welcome addition to our staff and she is available before, during, and after surgery to assist you with questions and concerns. When not working her hobbies include crafts, crocheting, and taking care of her two Border-Terrior puppies, Darby and Oscar!
Kesia: Tubal Reversal Scheduling Nurse
Nurse Kesia previously worked as an operating room circulating nurse at Wayne UNC Hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina. One day while working in the operating room, she overheard a surgeon talking about the great tubal reversal and vasectomy services we offered at A Personal Choice and it stimulated her curiosity enough to apply for a position!
Nurse Kesia is a military spouse from Florida. Her husband is active duty Air Force and is stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. In her spare time she like to sleep, perform in plays, and loves watching anime with her husband.
Kaylee: Tubal Reversal Scheduling Nurse
Nurse Kaylee is the newest addition to our Tubal Reversal Nursing staff. She is originally from Utah and moved to North Carolina because her husband was in the U.S. Air force. Kaylee graduated with a degree in nursing from Wayne County Community College. She previously worked as an ICU nurse at Wayne UNC Hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Kaylee was looking for a more predictable and family-friendly schedule, so when Kaylee heard there was a position available with our staff she was eager to join and begin helping women regain their fertility and have an overall happy experience with their medical care at our office. In her spare time, she likes to play with her dogs and spend time with her husband. We are happy to have Kaylee’s bright cheerful smile in our office!
Sodonia: Lead Surgical Technician
Sodonia graduated from Miller-Motte Technical College with a Surgical Technology Associates degree. She is our lead surgical technician and is responsible for our efficient operating room services.
Sodonia is from Clayton, North Carolina. She has two young children and she loves to travel and eat soul food!
She is a stable presence in the operating room and she is critical to the success of our reversal surgeries.
Tim: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Tim is the lead Nurse Anesthetist for our center and has years of experience as an anesthesia provider. He is an accomplished instrument rated pilot, has completed several Iron Man Triathlons and many major marathons. One can readily understand the amount of dedication, training, and attention to detail it takes to be an instrument rated pilot and a high endurance athlete. Tim brings this same amount of dedication and attention to detail when providing anesthesia care to our surgery patients. Patients receiving anesthesia will be in the best of hands!
