Consultation With Dr. Monteith: Two Options

Charles W. Monteith M.D.
Medical Director

If you are considering reversal surgery and would like more reassurance than the free consultation may provide then we can also arrange a pre-operative consultation.

This pre-operative consultation is optional because the majority of our patients will be able to have their questions answered by our knowledgeable staff, our free review of your tubal ligation/infertility records, and by our informative website.

All patients who schedule surgery will have a pre-operative consultation with Dr. Monteith the day before their surgery and this consultation is included in the reversal surgery fee.

Optional Pre-Operative Consultation

The optional pre-operative consultation exists for patients who desire more information or reassurance before scheduling their surgery. This consultation can be scheduled with Dr. Monteith as an office visit or as a phone consultation.

The fee for this optional consultation is $250 and is separate from the cost of tubal surgery.

Mandatory Pre-Operative Consultation

The mandatory pre-operative consultation is required for patients who have high risk conditions that can adversely impact pregnancy success. This consultation is required before a patient can schedule surgery. The most common reasons a patient would need a mandatory consultation are:

  • History of endometrial ablation (procedure to burn lining of the uterus to decrease menstrual flow
  • History of uterine artery embolization (procedure to block the uterine arteries to prevent life threatening bleeding)
  • History of deep vein thrombus (DVT) or pulmonary embolus (PE) or blood clotting disorder requiring anti-coagulation (blood thinners) before, during, or immediately after surgery

If you have undergone an endometrial ablation or uterine artery embolization procedure, have a history of deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, or require prescription blood thinners before, during, or immediately after surgery and would like a tubal reversal then you are required to have a mandatory pre-operative consultation before you can schedule surgery.

The fee for this mandatory consultation is $250 and is separate from the cost of tubal surgery.

Either consultation fee (optional or mandatory) can be paid by credit card using the link below.

You have ninety (90) days to schedule your consultation once the fee has been paid.
The consultation fee is non-refundable once the consultation has been completed.

After your consultation payment has been submitted please call the office to arrange a time for your pre-operative consultation. Also indicate if you would like this consultation to be in our office or by phone. We recommend you send all pertinent medical records to be reviewed by Dr. Monteith in advance of your consultation.

If you would like to schedule surgery after your consultation with Dr. Monteith you would then be required to pay the scheduling fee to start the scheduling process.

Currently we charge $6400 for tubal reversal surgery. You should be an excellent candidate for reversal if you have tubal clips.
