Our vasectomy reversal

More affordable and effective than IVF

Vasectomy reversal restores you back to normal and allows you and your partner the chance to become pregnant naturally. Every month you have a chance to become pregnant and over time you can become pregnant more than once. Vasectomy reversal is often more effective and more affordable than in-vitro fertilization.

  • Vasectomy reversal surgery fee $6,900
  • Average vasectomy reversal success 85%

The fee of $6,900 is our cash discounted fee. To obtain the cash discounted fee you must pay the entire surgery fee by bank wire, cashiers check, cash, or credit card.

*** If you are financing any portion of the vasectomy reversal fee, then the cost for vasectomy reversal surgery will be $7,500 ***

In comparison, the cost of a single cycle of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) ranges is $14,000 and the average IVF pregnancy success rate is 36% for each cycle attempted. If you have had a vasectomy and are attempting IVF then you will need to have needle aspiration of sperm for IVF conception to occur. This procedure, including the cost of sperm freezing, can range in cost from $2,000 to $9,000.

A single cycle of IVF that requires needle aspiration of sperm to by-pass the previous vasectomy blockage will range in cost from $14,000 to $23,000.

Meet Dr. Monteith

As a surgeon my reputation & integrity are extremely important to me. I’ve been providing new choices & new beginnings since 2008. I’ve had the distinct privilege of being the first surgeon in the world to report successful pregnancy within the peer reviewed medical literature after reversal of transcervical hysteroscopic tubal sterilization. Permanent is not forever at my practice! HAVE QUESTIONS?

What Our Patients Are Saying

“We had our surgery on 3/18/15 and on 02/02/16 our 7 pound 11 oz baby girl was born! I’m 34 years old and had tubal ligation done via clamps 8 years prior so this surgery really does work! 8 years later I had the reversal and 9 years later we were blessed with our little girl! So many doctors tried to talk us out of it-wanted us to do IVF to get our money-however praise God we went with this because it does WORK! Dr M is amazing and his staff! The area is beautiful where his office is, and if you do this procedure it will be the best money you ever spend!”

– Charlee-Belle M., Surgery

“From the very first phone call, the staff at A Personal Choice has been amazing! They have answered our numerous questions, concerns and have been amazing. They never give you false hope, but give you the complete story. I am so happy that we chose Dr. Monteith and his staff to make our dreams a reality. Can’t wait to start trying to have a baby. I would and have recommended Dr. Monteith to ANYONE wanting a tubal ligation or vasectomy reversal. Thank you all so much for giving us this chance!”

– Angela W., Essure Reversal

“Excellent service overall! Each stage of the process was carefully explained in great detail: how the procedure works, what to expect during the procedure, what to expect after, possible side effects. Dr. Monteith himself is very knowledgeable and experienced and quite personable too. He has a great sense of humor and uses it generously to put patients at ease. I highly recommend him and his staff to anyone considering either a vasectomy or a vasectomy reversal.”

Chris B., Vasectomy Reversal

I had a vasectomy in 1998. I’m 56 years old looking for information regarding the possibility of a successful reversal. What chances do I have of a successful reversal?

    Dr. Monteith Reply

The chance of successful vasectomy reversal depend on how long you have had the vasectomy. You can find more information here: Chance of successful vasectomy reversal

The statistics refer to the chance of sperm reappearing after reversal. Pregnancy rates after reversal are usually about half of rates of sperm reappearance.

My husband had a vasectomy in 2006. we are wanting to have a baby as we are newly married .I also have my tubes tied. Would we be able to have both procedure done at the same time or within a few days of eachother? Would there possibly be some kind of discount for doing both around the same time?

    Dr. Monteith Reply

You would need a tubal reversal and a your partner would need a vasectomy reversal. We can perform the surgery during the same trip but I generally recommend the man goes first. If his reversal is successful then the woman can then have surgery. You should send us your tubal ligation operative report so we can see if you are a candidate. We do both ‘his and her’ reversals but we do not offer a discount. Please call us at (919)977-5050 if you have any questions.

I am looking to schedule a reversal to be done in March of this year. Are there any specials going on around this timeframe? I will not be using any credit companies as I will just pay out of pocket. Thanks

I am looking to have vas reversal within the next 3 to 6 wks. I am currently able,to take off work and need to get it done asap. I have care credit of $1,000 and was approved for $4,000 with United medical. Can I split payment and pay the $4000 to your office from loan and then also pay with care credit the,$1000? Making total financed $5,000 and pay rest in cash? If so would I be charged 2 $500 fees? Also,is the $125 schedule fee apply towards surgery? I had my bad done June 2014

    Dr. Monteith Reply

Give us a call if you have questions (919)968-4656. The $125 fee is not applied towards surgery. You can split your financing. You only have to pay the $500 financing fee one time if you split your financing…but call to speak with our staff to confirm.

My husband is planning to have a vasectomy reversal in December of next year. How far in advanced would he have to schedule it?

    Dr. Monteith Reply

In general most of our patients schedule 3 to 6 weeks out for reversal surgery. We are currently offering a special on vasectomy reversal of $5400 (regularly $6500). The special may or may not be available next year. Currently we are considering extending it to the end of 2016.
