mrszamudio I have a question for Dr. Berger. I was wondering what's the difference between you and other doctors out there? This is a life changing event and I want to be 100 percent sure because I wish to have this done one time only.
empty nested I'm not the Dr., but I really felt I had to reply. I think Dr. Berger's web site and the girls on this message board say everything that I need to know that he is the very best. His credentials are top notch. He has been doing this for 28 years 4 times a day, 5 days a week. I don't think I have seen a week go by that less than 5 women report pregnancies in the pregnancy reports. Dr. Berger is available for questions 24/7. I know that no matter what question I ask, someone will answer it in a reasonable time frame. How many other sites have you come across that you have seen so much information and got to speak to real patients and not just read the testimonies from the success cases. You get it all here. Good and bad.

I understand your skepticism. And I think that it is very good to ask such a question regarding your fertility. I was scared to death to go forward with this operation, but reading the posts on here an talking to all the ladies convinced me that I was making the right decision. Hang around on the board for a few weeks and you will see what I mean.

TheMzD MrsZamudio - you can do an internet search for other Tubal Reversal doctors and compare their statistics, methods, and success rates - make sure you check though - many of the other doctors that do TR, also do IUI and IVF and lump all the success rates into one figure - they don't specify just the TR rates.

Also see if you can TALK to their other patients, as we do on this board - not just read a few stories from ladies who were lucky and got pg. Ask how long the healing process was, how long they had to wait to TTC (some docs say three months!), what is the rate for tubal blockage after surgery, and what kind of after support they get from the surgeon.

DH and I researched doctors for two years - there was one clinic an hour away from where my inlaws live, which would have been so convenient! But, after two years of talking to different docs, talking to their nursing staff, we had no doubts that Dr Berger was well worth the trip to Chapel Hill.

Lorie Sterling There are never any guarantees with any type of surgery. We can just hope and pray that our tubes are able to be repaired. Most of the time they are able to be repaired. I would do this surgery with Dr. Berger if I had it to do again. I think he is the best Dr. by far. His whole staff is excellent. I had talked to others about performing my TR but none of them impressed me at all. This message board helped and still helps me a lot.

You may find a doctor who does the TR cheaper but I bet you will never find anyone better no matter how cheap or how much they charge. You will have to look deep inside yourself to really find what you want to do.

The TR was one of the most important decisions I have ever made and I thank God that Dr. Berger is the one who performed my surgery. I know a lot of Dr's out there make claims of there own but sometimes its best to look at the facts. I want to wish you luck on whatever you decide to do and I agree with Sheila that you can read the boards and go through the site it will make you feel so much better about choosing Dr. B to do your TR.
