Catie Liz, I encourage you to send your operative and pathology reports from your TL for review by Dr. Berger. This information will let you know whether a tubal reversal is a good option for you. If you can't get the records, Dr. Berger can do a screening laparoscopy,as TheMzD pointed out. 58 % of women in your age group (35-39) become pregnant after reversal surgery, so don't give up hope! Here are a few links to get you started: Forms for sending your operative report Pregnancy rates after tubal reversal If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!

I myself am 41 soon to be 42 in October and had my TL 16 years ago. I am seriously thinking about having a TR done in early spring. I have been thinking about this for several years and have decided this is the year to either do or don't. I do worry about age and risk but I don't want to go through the rest of my life wondering what if. I don't feel too old to raise another and actually am really excited about the idea. Hopefully everything will fall in place.

Hello ladies,
I'm 44, had my TR done 8-17-04 with Dr. Berger.I have three children 27,26,and 19.My family surprised me and is very supportive. My DH and I know my age is a factor but I think with my health being pretty good and all my test results good I have a chance. I feel at times am I ready to do this all over again, but I know me and I will be fine with whatever God choses to do. My DH will still love me and I think a baby at an older age is great and will keep us young at heart. We're so much more knowledgeable and patient. Follow your heart always, thats what I'm doing. Also I got my TL info from the hospital they had to go to micro film to find it,they told me after ten years they put it on film.Good Luck to all of you.....Chris

Catie Liz, Welcome!! I'll be 38 in October, my daughters are 19, 18 and 12. I had my tubal the day my youngest was born. My (second) husband (no children of his own) is currently deployed, due home Sept 9th. Our tr is scheduled for Sept 29th. You aren't crazy for wanting this. I have thought of little else for months, waiting for him to get his orders home. My oldest daughter informed me last week that she's 19 and doesnt NEED a baby brother or sister - I agreed - she's 19 yep, but my having another baby or three is none of her business. She is out living her own life, and I'm living mine. Follow your heart. We are not too old, the testimonials show plenty of women in our age range. And, Dr. Berger does offer a screening package if, like me, you cannot obtain your tubal records. Check into it.
Good Luck Kay

I am 36..will be 37 at the end of Dec. I had my tubes tied 11 years ago. I had a child when I was 17 * raised her alone until just a couple of years ago. She is 19 now. I was married last month * 4 days later my husband received his orders to be deployed to Iraq. He left just this last Saturday * may be gone for a year....Okay...I am seriously considering having a tubal reversal. I have NO idea what shape my tubes were left in or if will even be possible. I am just starting to research this. My daughter thinks I am INSANE, my husband, however, is ecstatic of the possibility. I called the hospital where I had the procedure done but they do not know yet whether or not they still have my records. Apparently they destroy them after 10 years, so I am waiting to hear back from them. Am I a crazy lady for wanting a baby after raising a 19 year old? What are the possiblities of having one this late in the game? Am I setting myself * my husband (he has never had kids of his own)up for disappointment?

To all, I too had my TR at 39, had to come back and get some blockage cleared at 40, so here I am 4 months waiting. TTC and on CD26. I am going to be optimistic because I have faith. I had a HSG done about two months ago,and all was perfectly clear, sending those films soon to Dr. Berger. But, I just know it's all about timing. We are not too old! This is all worth it. And I hope to hear more positive words from everyone!

We have been able to TTC for 7 months since M/C. But found out my R tube may be Blocked in May. So it is posible I only had 3-4 month I could have conceived in this past year. GOOD NEWS!!!! I got my positive HPT this week. I went for my betas on Friday and will get my numbers Monday. So what I am trying to say here. You have to give yourselves every oportunity to share in this blessing, stay optimistic. It could be a short road or a long haul. Right now we are so excited, the last year was worth it.

Well, we'll find out if Dr B is better than all the kings horses and all the kings men in another 38 days!! But you are right, I'd rather know before hand if its even possible. I wish I had more faith, but having dealt with military docs the past 20 yrs, heaven only knows what they did in there. My heart says everything will be fine, and I'll be pregnant soon, but my head is another story.

Kay: You had me laughing reading your post, lol. I too have decided that the exploratory precedure before the TR was the way to go. Id rather not lose ALL the money than go through with the TR and find nothing.

I am just so thrilled to hear these stories! My husband and I are just on pins-and-needles with excitement. Thank you so very much, Ladies. You've inspired us to take the plunge. We will be scheduling our TR soon and will let you all know how it proceeds as we are also looking forward to hearing about each of you experiencing the gift of "just one more precious birth"!

To the ladies whose doctors are retired or didn't keep op report. The hospital you had your surgery at should have a record in their medical records. This is where I got all my reports for Dr Berger.

Good morning to everyone. I have never posted on the message boards, but I've been reading your posts for literally years. My husband and I will be going for my TR in the next 45 days or so (after talking about it for the last 5 years). I'm 38 years old, he's 32. I have two teenaged sons, 17 and 14. My husband has never had biological children, but has raised my boys with me. I need to hear from those of you over 38 who have successfully conceived and delivered after your TR...please? We are really scared, but excited and would love to know this is possible. Thank you

Good morning Ladies, need some encouragement so thought I would vent here. I am 42 and had my TR in April-2004. I'm on CD 24 and feeling like I'm going to have AF. I know it's only been 4 months but am so excited to have another baby. I had three children from another marriage but lost my son 2 yrs. ago in car accident he was 16. Dr. wants to do HSG if I don't get pg this month and then start me on Clomid. Has anyone gotten pg on clomid after the age of 40?
