Tubal Reversal Cost - All Inclusive Fee
The reduced fee is $5900 for tubal reversal surgery with Dr. Berger or $5400 with Dr. Monteith.
Low-cost tubal reversal
With conventional methods, tubal ligation reversal may take several hours and patients are hospitalized for 2-3 days. Longer surgery and anesthesia times increase recovery time and costs. At Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center, the reversal procedure takes approximately one hour and overnight hospital stay is not needed. The advanced tubal reversal surgery techniques used by Dr. Berger and Dr. Monteith result in a low cost outpatient procedure that has produced the most tubal reversal babies born worldwide.
We offer four fee options
1) Dr. Berger's standard fee is $6900. With this fee, you can schedule your appointment and hold a date with a $250 down payment. The balance is due three weeks prior to the surgery date.
2) Dr. Berger's discounted fee is $5900 and is due within 24 hours of scheduling your surgery. In other words, if you call today to schedule for next month, the full $5900 fee must be received by tomorrow to get the discount.
3) Dr. Monteith's standard fee is $6400. With this fee, you can schedule your appointment and hold a date with a $250 down payment. The balance is due three weeks prior to the surgery date.
4) Dr. Monteith's discounted fee is $5400. The discounted fee is due within 24 hours of the time when you schedule your appointment.
Payment methods
Payment can be made by Visa, Master Card, Discover Card, bank wire transfer, or by sending a cashier's check or money order via overnight delivery. Personal checks or Western Union transfers are not accepted.
Patients scheduling with Dr. Berger who submit payment for the entire surgery fee by wire transfer, cashier's check or money order will receive an additional $100 reduction in the total surgery fee. (There are no further fee reductions when scheduling with Dr. Monteith.)
What is included
The fees for tubal reversal procedures by Dr. Berger and Dr. Monteith are all-inclusive and cover:
- Preoperative record review and consultation
- Surgeon's fee
- Anesthesia fees
- Surgical supplies
- Operating facility fees
- Postoperative pain medication
- Follow-up care
The reduced fee is a one time offer. If you cancel your procedure for any reason and reschedule at a later date, the standard fee will apply. If you start a Pre-payment plan with us you are still eligible for the reduced fee.
When you have the total amount of the reduced fee in your account you may then schedule your surgery date at the lower price. You do not have to wait until the balance is paid to schedule your tubal reversal; however, the full fee is due at least three weeks prior to the surgery date. If you wait to schedule until you have full amount of the discounted fee in your account, you may schedule a date at the reduced fee. There is a $250 non-refundable charge due at the time of scheduling. This charge is applied to the total fee.
Insurance and tubal reversal
Some insurance companies may cover part of the cost of tubal ligation reversal. We are a fee for service practice and do not accept payments from insurance carriers. If your insurance carrier will cover part or all of the cost of your surgery, please be sure they send the reimbursement check to you directly. The insurance code (ICD-9) for bilateral tubal occlusion is 628.2. The procedure code (CPT) for tubotubal anastomosis is 58750.
Any pre-certification or pre-authorization that may be required by insurance policies are the responsibility of the patient. Since our standard and discount fees are all-inclusive, we do not provide a cost breakdown to insurance companies.
Pre-payment option
This option permits you to pre-pay the surgical fee in installments without interest prior to the surgery date. To utilize this option, send a non-refundable $250 payment to:
Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center
109 Conner Drive, Suite 2200
Chapel Hill North Carolina 27514
ATTN: Pre-Payment Plan
An account will be opened in your name, and you can send additional payments of any amount as you are able. If you would like to start a pre-payment account or would like to make a payment toward your existing account, complete the Pre-Payment Form, print it, and mail it with your payment each time you make a payment toward your account. You are welcome to schedule your procedure at any time. If you wait to schedule until you have full amount of the discounted fee in your account, then you may schedule a date at the reduced fee. Accounts are considered inactive if payments are not made for a period of 12 months or more. In this case, patients are no longer locked into the fees that were in place at the time they began the plan and current fees will apply. If you have questions regarding costs or payment options, please e-mail Julia Smith, RN or call (919) 968-4656.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
If your procedure is cancelled for any reason within 8-21 days of your scheduled surgery date, there will be a 25% cancellation charge. A $1,000 rescheduling fee will apply within this time frame. Rescheduling or canceling of your surgery within seven days of the surgery date, regardless of the reason, will result in forfeiture of 100% of the surgical fee. You can reschedule one time outside of three weeks without charge. Refunds on cancelled procedures or pre-payment plans may take up to 30 days.
