Screening Laparoscopy

Unique To Our Practice

We are the only center offering patients an insurance policy during tubal ligation reversal surgery: Screening laparoscopy.

We never require a screening laparoscopy. This procedure is always optional. You should think of the optional screening laparoscopy as you would an insurance policy.

Although we are able to repair most tubal ligations, we offer patients who desire more certainty about their surgery an optional screening laparoscopy procedure. This procedure allows a quick evaluation of your fallopian tubes using a camera inserted through a small incision made inside your belly button.

If tubal repair is not possible then patients who choose the screening laparoscopy option will receive a refund of their surgical fee!

Patients who choose to have a screening laparoscopy at the time of tubal reversal surgery will pay (tubal reversal surgery fee + screening laparoscopy fee). If we cannot reverse at least one tube then patients who choose to have a screening laparoscopy will be refunded their tubal reversal surgery fee.

When you are ready to schedule your reversal surgery, payment of a scheduling fee is required to be added to the surgery schedule.

The scheduling fee covers the cost involved in planning and scheduling your surgery:

• 20 minute medical history phone interview
• registration paper work
• surgical date selection
• ordering pre-operative lab work
• providing advice for travel and hotel reservations

The scheduling fee can conveniently be paid with a credit card.

Tubal Reversal Prepayment Account Option

For patients interested in a long-term three (3) year prepayment arrangement, our office offers a prepayment account option. Our prepayment plan offers you a great way to save towards tubal reversal surgery and may even allow you to have a discounted tubal reversal surgery!

Health Insurance And Tubal Reversal

Most health insurances will not pay for elective tubal reversal surgery, but you will never know unless you ask.

Using FSA and HSA money for reversal surgery

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Care Savings Accounts (HSA) are great ways to pay for tubal reversal. You may even receive a tax benefit!

There is card processing fee for payment made by FSA card or HSA card. Please remember if you are using a FSH or HSA card as a method of payment then you have to pay and have surgery in the same tax year.

Surgery Cancellation And Rescheduling

Cancellation of surgery within 15 to 21 days of the surgery date will result in a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellation of a procedure within 14 days of the date of surgery, regardless of the reason, will result in forfeiture of 100% of the surgical fee.

Patients may reschedule their surgery date one time, outside of 3 weeks of the initial surgery date, at no charge. Additional date changes will require a rescheduling fee of $1500.

Rescheduling surgery within 15 to 21 days of the date of surgery, regardless of the reason, will result in forfeiture of 50% of the surgical fee. Rescheduling surgery within 14 days of the date of surgery, regardless of the reason, will result in forfeiture of 100% of the surgical fee.

Refunds on cancellations may take up to 30 days to process.
