Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center is recognized by many as a center of excellence for tubal ligation reversal and tubal repair surgery. Our reputation exists not only in the United States but also across the world.
Most of our patients are not local and will travel to us from across the United States. Others travel internationally to have surgery at our center.
Ella and Markus are from Weil am Rhein, Germany.
Together they have traveled to have Ella’s Essure coils removed and a reversal of Essure sterilization.
Ella is 41 years of age and has a 15 year-old child from a previous relationship. Ella and Markus have known each other for five years and have been married for two years.
Ella is an American and grew up in Georgia. Ella had decided one child was enough when she had the Essure procedure in her home state of Georgia.
Life can have unusual twists and turns. As her fate would have it she eventually met Markus while he was working in the United States. Markus swept Ella off her feet , they married, and Ella moved to Germany to live with Markus.
Essure Removal or IVF?
Ella and Markus were happily married but they wanted a child together. They discussed the possibility of having a child but did not make any immediate decisions. After some time had passed they continued to discuss the options on having more children after her Essure sterilization procedure.
They explored the possibility of in-vitro fertilization and they had to consider which was the best treatment for them: Essure reversal or IVF.
They ultimately decided IVF treatment was not for them and they began to seriously pursue Essure reversal.
They decided they wanted to have Ella’s Essure procedure reversed at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center.
Essure Reversal In North Carolina
Ella traveled to North Carolina for her surgical consultation. She had her pre-operative evaluation with Dr. Monteith and her surgery the next day.
Ella’s Essure reversal operation occurred in our newly renovated operating room.
She did great during her surgery but Ella was only able to have one tube reversed because of a pre-existing gynecologic condition.
Her Essure reversal surgery was a success and lasted 60 minutes.
She returned to the local hotel to recover after her surgery. She was seen in our office the next day. Since they traveled a long distance for reversal surgery, Ella and Markus spent time with friends and family in the United States before returning to Germany.
The staff of the reversal center wish the couple well on their journey and we hope to hear news of a pregnancy from them in the near future.
