Tubal Reversal And Getting Pregnant At Age 40
I remember frantically trying to find a facility to have my tubal reversal. Being that my husband graduated from UNC Chapel Hill, he believed that I would have the best chance at your facility. I had my surgery in November of 2012.
After trying for a few years, I became a little discouraged but kept the faith. I had my tubes flushed in Hampton Virginia and the OB-Gyn was amazed at how easily the fluid went through my tubes. My only obstacle was the numerous fibroids I had. Being a busy ER Nurse, I never found the time to schedule an appointment to have the fibroids removed. But last year in April, as I was approaching my 40th birthday (December), I decided to have the surgery and nine months after the fibroids were removed, my husband and I became pregnant.
We are currently about 10 weeks along. I remember promising Dr. Monteith a chicken sandwich if I was ever to get pregnant. I guess I owe him that chicken sandwich now!
