This is a humorous story about the cast members (tubal reversal staff) who participated in the tubal reversal of Mrs. Peach.
For readers joining this blog series a little background is necessary. In early 2009, Georgia Peach scheduled a tubal reversal surgery with A Personal Choice. She also expressed an interest in blogging from her perspective about her reversal surgery experience. She wanted more ‘details’ about what women where going through. We were delighted to have her write about her experience.
I thought I would give readers some ‘details’ on all the cast members who participated in Georgia Peach’s story. This is a purely humorous blog to demonstrate how much fun we have at our reversal center. If readers want a serious medical publication then they should ready ANY OTHER blog article on our website.
Wanting A Baby After Tubes Been Tied: The Peaches
The Peaches are a very close couple. They do everything together.
They even BLINK together!
I have never met any other people who close their eyes more than I do when I take pictures – until I met the Peaches.
Personal Advice On Tubal Reversal Surgery: Mrs. Peach
Tanya is her real name, but she blogs by her Tubal Reversal Message board name Georgia Peach. She is a wonderful and energetic person. This really comes through in her blogs and in my personal correspondence with her.
In her previous submissions, she mentioned I had asked permission to take pictures of her immediately before and after surgery and she wanted to see them. Well I did ask for permission but never took any pictures…why?
Georgia Peach is terribly afraid of needles. She was really worked up about her IV and cried crocodile tears the entire time before surgery.
If I had taken a picture of her before surgery, the picture would have looked like the one shown here.
I may not know a lot of things, but I do know two very important things:
1. Never take a picture of a crying patient
2. Never show a picture of a crying patient
After surgery, Georgia was too sedated to be crying, but she did not look like she wanted to take any pictures….so out of kindness I did not take any photos of Georgia on the day of surgery except the very cool picture (the mini bikini reversal incision) shown in the previous blog about her reversal surgery.
How To Afford A Tubal Reversal: Get A Sugar Peach
His real name is Kevin, but I call him Mr. Peach. This guy really loves his wife. He waited on her hand and foot and attended to her every need. Their love for each other comes through in each of their blogs: the going away party at work, the dinner together while on the road for reversal, and in his final statement he submitted in his blog contribution for others husbands to read.
Mr. Peach is a really good guy.
How To Schedule Tubal Reversal Surgery? Talk With Ericka
Ericka and Jeannie schedule all of our tubal reversal surgeries. Ericka or Jeannie can be reached at (919) 968-4656.
Ericka scheduled the reversal surgery for Georgia Peach. I took this picture of Ericka because many patients thank Ericka for her helpfulness in scheduling tubal reversal surgery.
I wanted to take a picture of Jeannie, but I am not that brave. Jeannie has made it very, very clear to me she does not like to be in pictures- although she does not seem to mind taking them for me.
Ericka- I got you with your mouth open! Sorry!
Want Tubal Reversal Surgery? Lets Scrub Nurse Kathy Help
Kathy is one of our senior scrub technicians and she was the scrub technician for Georgia’s surgery.
She has the calmest and most pleasing personality. She is a Mrs. Rogers of the operating room. She also has the distinction of having the only March birthday at the reversal center. We recently threw a salad bar birthday party for her (she really, really likes salads); however, we still do not know how old she is because she would not let us put any candles on her cake and she refuses to state her age.
Clearly, Kathy takes picture posing advice from Ericka!
Want To Untie Tied Tubes? Let Brandon Assist
Brandon acted as the first assistant for Georgia’s surgery.
Brandon is a great person to have as a first assistant and he is one of the reasons we are able to keep this a safe out patient surgery. Brandon’s job is to gently retract and hold the tube so the reversal surgeons can perform the microsurgical tubal anastamosis. In addition to providing visualization, Brandon is an expert at keeping the reversal surgeons on their toes with his surgical dexterity.
He is also an excellent sucker….I am referring to his skill at providing surgical suction in the operative field.
Great guns Brandon!
Why Have a Tubal Reversal? Because of … Sally!
Brandon could not do his job without Sally because she is in charge of setting up the operating room and the surgical suction. Sally and Brandon are therefore inseparable.
Sally is a BIG fan of the QVC home shopping channel. She even TiVos the show. Every week she buys something from the show. Last week she bought a portable suction machine to use for the fountain on her back deck. I have never seen Sally as happy as the day we had Patricia in our office. Patricia was patient of our reversal center who sold her invention on the QVC channel. We have a three part blog series on Patricia for interested readers.
I have never seen Sally move so fast as the day she was trying to get home to see her taped segment of Nifty Gifts featuring Patricia!
Need Advice On Tubal Reversal? Ask… Pam
Georgia’s angel is Pam. Pam is an integral component of our tubal reversal anesthesia department. She is wonderful at her job.
She is calm and soothing and everyone loves her. Pam has been mentioned in Georgia’s previous blogs. Pam is known by patients as the ‘Dispenser of Happy Pills‘. Our staff knows Pam as the ‘Provider of Happily Baked Goods’ (she is a very skinny and nicer version of Martha Stuart) because she cooks and brings the most delightful culinary masterpieces: raspberry scones, rosemary cashews, pasta salad, prosciutto melon balls, and every kind of cake you can imagine.
Unfortunately, patients can not have any of her baked goods because they can not eat before surgery. Darn! But you can have Happy Pills!
With all the cooking Pam does, I am still trying to figure out why we are all so fat and Pam is so thin!
Want to Have Tubes Untied? Let Lori Care For You
Lori is one of our recovery nurses. She worked with Mrs. Peach and she is the nurse Georgia accused of laughing at her after her reversal surgery (read the previous blogs for the details).
Georgia- after your surgery, you were under the influence of medication and I promise Lori would never laugh at anyone.
Lori does laugh a lot (that is why she is so fun to work with), but she is too much of a kind soul to laugh directly at anyone; however, it was fun for me to chase her around like the Tubal Reversal Paparazzi and make accusations of her.
Chasing Lori with a camera was a lot of fun for me.
Need Advice For After Tubal Reversal? Ask Brenna
Brenna is the personal tubal reversal, after surgery recovery nurse who was assigned to Mrs. Peach.
Brenna is available 24 hours, 7 days a week by email or phone to answer any personal questions for Mrs. Peach.
The most recent question Brenna was able to answer for Mrs. Peach was could she have pepperoni on her pizza three weeks after surgery?
The answer was YES!
For those of you who are new to tubal reversal and are wondering what effect does pepperoni have on tubal reversal, reversal recovery, or trying to conceive after surgery- the answer is nothing.
Absolutely nothing…
Want A Baby After Tubal Ligation? Reversal Baby… Coming Soon
No. Mr and Mrs Peach are not pregnant yet because it has been too soon since her surgery. We are optimistic she will be pregnant in the near future. I have already started calling her baby – Baby Fuzz! Peach Fuzz- get it?
We anxiously are awaiting the arrival of Baby Fuzz.
Don’t disappoint us!
Georgia Peach’s next blog is Tubal Reversal Surgery: First Week Of Recovery.
