Financing Reversal Surgery

Financing Reversal Surgery

A Personal Choice has partnered with leaders in the industry of surgery financing. The financing companies below are accepted by our office:

  • Advance Care Card and My Medical Funding
  • United Medical Credit

We have selected these two companies as the best companies to work with when financing tubal ligation reversal, vasectomy reversal, Essure removal, and Essure reversal surgery.

Financing reversal surgery can be a convenient way to have reversal surgery now without waiting to save for the full amount.

How to obtain financing for reversal surgery?

You need to apply to the financing company directly before you schedule surgery.

Once the company approves your application you can schedule surgery with our office.

  • The Advance Care financing company will provide you with a card, similar to a credit card, that can be charged at the time of scheduling surgery.
  • United Medical will notify our office of your approved amount before you schedule.

Two of the more unique plans are the My Medical Funding Patient Direct Loan and United Medical Credit Patient Direct Loan. If you are approved the company will send you the money directly and you can then use this money to pay our office for surgery or travel related expenses.

After your surgery is completed, you are responsible for paying the financing company for your surgery over the time frame you agreed upon. Your interest rate and terms are established with the financing company at the time you were approved.

Financing surgery can be a great way to have surgery now…but pay for surgery later.

Important points about financing reversal surgery?

The following are important points to be aware of when financing reversal surgery with
A Personal Choice.

  • Qualification for financing is dependent on your financial situation and credit rating
  • You are responsible for obtaining approval for financing
  • After you have qualified we will need your financing information when you call to schedule surgery
  • $500 financing administration* fee is required for all financed surgeries. This financing fee cannot be combined with your financed amount, is non-refundable, and is payable at time of surgery scheduling
  • If you qualify for My Medical Funding Direct Patient Loan or the United Medical Credit Patient Direct Loan and pay your surgery fee in full at the time of scheduling then the $500 financing fee will be waived*. The fee will only be waived for this loan and when surgery is paid in full at time of scheduling. See below for more details.

*Starting April 1st 2019, financed surgeries scheduled after April 1st 2019 will not require the $500 administration fee.

If you started a Reversal Prepayment Account before April 1st 2019 and have locked in your surgery fee at a lower rate….you will not be charged the higher financed surgery fee but you will be required to pay the $500 finance administration fee.

Advance Care Card

Approved applicants may receive up to 14 months of interest free financing at very competitive interest rates. CareCredit card holders must pay accrued interest during their no payment period!

Ideal applicants are applicants with credit scores above 640; however, the company does have financing opportunities for applicants with credit scores less than 640.

Helpful Points When Applying For Advance Care

Before you apply for Advance Care you should be aware of the following important points:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • You cannot have declared bankruptcy within the last 5 years
  • You cannot have been referred to collections within the last 12 months
  • Your minimum total household income must be at least $1,500 a month

In general your credit score determines the interest free period you will be offered:

  • Credit score 620 to 650…. up to 6 months of interest free financing!
  • Credit score of 500 to 620… no interest free financing offered.

After you qualify for the Advance Care card, the company will mail you a card that looks just like a credit card. The Advance Care card functions like a credit card when being used to pay for surgery.

To access the financed money on the Advance Care Card, the card needs to be swiped on a credit card processing terminal and because of this the card holder will be charged a 3% processing fee when the card is used at A Personal Choice.

Although the Advance Care Card functions like a credit card, the card can only be used for services obtained by approved providers and cannot be used for non-medical expenses (ie gas, hotel, or food).

Apply for United Medical Credit Patient Direct Loan or Provider Direct financing

With the best financing reversal company working with A Personal Choice it has never been easier to finance tubal reversal surgery or finance vasectomy reversal surgery.

United Medical has also partnered with A Personal Choice to offer patients financing for Essure reversal and Essure removal surgery.

Tips on Financing Reversal Surgery

1. Have good credit
Financing companies are only willing to finance surgery (loan you money) if they feel you are financially stable enough to repay your loan. They do not want to loan money if they feel you will not repay them.

2. Consider applying with a co-applicant (loan co-signer)
A co-applicant with good credit can greatly increase your chances of obtaining surgery financing. The companies will often advise our office: A good co-applicant will increase the chances of a loan approval for this patient, allowing them to finance their procedure!

3. What to do if your application is rejected?
If your application is rejected you can reapply with a co-applicant or another co-applicant with better credit.

4. Funding amounts
You may receive full or partial funding for surgery. The better your credit or the better the credit of your co-applicant then the more funding you can expect.

5. Patient Direct Loan Programs
Consider applying for the My Medical Funding Patient Direct Loan or United Medical Credit’s Patient Direct Loan. If you are approved then the loan is deposited directly into your bank account before surgery and you can pay our office as if you were paying directly for your reversal surgery. You can also use this money to pay for any surgery related expenses.

We should be able to help you. We can reverse most tubal ligation procedures.

The first step to see if you are a candidate is to send us your tubal ligation reports to us for a free review and we can let you know if you are a candidate for reversal surgery.

Your reports can be obtained from the medical records department where your tubal ligation surgery was performed.

We charge $6,900 total plus $150 to schedule and we are located in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Patients pay in full and out-of-pocket at the time of scheduling. All you have to pay for in addition to the surgical fee is the cost of travel, hotel, and food.

On average the chance of pregnancy after tubal ligation reversal is about 60% if you are under age 42.

We do have a prepayment tubal reversal plan that allows you to save towards your reversal over a 3 year period.

Although $6,900 seems expensive…the alternative treatment in-vitro fertilization (IVF) average $12,000 to $14,000 and is about 40% successful!

The main advantage to tubal reversal is that every month you have a chance and you can become pregnant more than once.

Hi, I am 26 and have type 1 diabetes, I decided to get a tubal ligation after my 2nd child but I am now wanting 1 or 2 more, my diabetes is well maintained so I am curious if having diabetes will be a problem with reversal surgery ? I also had 2 csections with my kids. Also if I get approved for financing , Do I have to schedule immediately for surgery ?

    1. Dr. Monteith says:

If you are financing we charge a higher fee for each procedure….refer to our website for more details.

If you are approved for financing you do have to pay the $150 to schedule, complete the scheduling process, and pick a date for surgery. If you are financing in full then you don’t have to pay until the day of surgery. If you are partly financing then the non-financed portion is due within 24 hours of scheduling. Call us if you have questions.

You should consider our screening laparoscopy because of your history of c-sections and the possibility of scar tissue.

We charge $6,900 for tubal reversal surgery. You should send us your records from your tubal ligation for a free review. Sometimes patients cannot get their records. Even if you cannot obtain your records we would perform tubal reversal for you because we can reverse most tubal ligations most of the time.

Tubal reversal can be 60% to 70% effective. The other treatment to become pregnant is In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) and this treatment cost averages $14,000 and is about 40% effective for each try.

Tubal reversal is possible when you have a history of multiple c-sections. We have many patients who have successful reversal and pregnancy with a history of c-sections. The biggest concern with multiple (3 or more) c-sections is the possibility of severe scar tissue. If severe scar tissue exists then reversal may not be possible.

We estimate that about 1 out of 12 women with 3 or more c-sections will have severe scar tissue that can make tubal reversal more challenging and in some cases not possible. For these patients we offer a screening laparoscopy. You can consider this similar to a surgery insurance policy.

The laparoscopy costs an additional $1,750.

If you choose to have a screening laparoscopy we can look with a camera during the surgery and see if you have severe scar tissue. If you have severe scar tissue we can often make a different incision…so this can increase the success of your procedure. If your tubes are not repairable or the scar tissue is too severe then we would offer you a refund of your surgical fee.
