Military Tubal Reversal: Sometimes Better To Go Outside The System
Excited to announce that we have a healthy pregnancy after tubal reversal surgery!
I can’t thank A Personal Choice enough for giving us this opportunity.
I had my tubes clamped after my second son was born in 2010. Last year in 2015, we started looking into places to have reversal done, as anyone who is looking into it can attest there are hundreds of places that offer the surgery. After a lot of research we decided to try at our local military facility.
Since my husband is in the military a military tubal reversal surgery would have been free. We had all the tests done (blood work and hsg) and at my first appointment was told that based on the hsg there was nothing left of my tubes and I had no choice but to do IVF. I didn’t believe what they told me but we went ahead and looked into the process of IVF and the cost. We also had the option to travel to another military hospital to have them do a military tubal reversal surgery.
The cost of military tubal reversal surgery was free and the cost of IVF was about $7000.00 since my husband is active duty.
Military tubal reversal surgery or A Personal Choice?
We thought for months and continued our research. Our cousin then told us about A Personal Choice. She had nothing but great things to say about them and a little boy to really drive home the point.
We looked into it and found that the results and positive feedback was unlike any other place that we had checked out.
Even though we could have had the military tubal reversal surgery for free, it was important to us that this was done right by someone who really knows what they are doing.
We sent in my surgical report from my tubal, the next day we heard that I was a great candidate for surgery!
A few months later we got finances moved around and paid the surgery fee. Four weeks later on December 14, 2015 I walked out of A Personal Choice with 9cm of fallopian tube on each side. The day of surgery was great, Dr. Monteith and his staff are the best of the best.
We found out we were pregnant in March, unfortunately in April I miscarried. We stayed positive however, we were just happy that surgery worked!!
A few months later we got another positive and today at our 6 week ultrasound showed a very healthy itty bitty baby.
Again I cannot thank A Personal Choice and Dr. Monteith enough for giving us this opportunity. You guys truly are the best at what you do!
Excited to send photos in March 🙂
