Having symptoms after tubes tied?
I am so very thankful to Dr. Monteith and his staff for taking a chance with me as my medical history was complicated. I had hoped the surgery might minimize my symptoms, never in my wildest dreams did I expect it to work so well. It was definitely worth the trip, discomfort, and hoops that I had to jump through.
Symptoms Before Tubal Reversal
Before my reversal I was having hot flashes, migraines, joint pain, fatigue, constant cramping, heavy bleeding, blood clots, loss of libido, mood swings, depression, PMDD, irregular cycles, and irritability
Symptoms after tubal reversal
Most of my symptoms have resolved since having my reversal. I feel better than I have felt in years, and my cramps which were pretty bad even before my tubal ligation are completely normal and no longer debilitating.
I continue to have irregular cycles, but no longer do I have to limit my activity before or during my cycle.
Patient age: 35
Tubal ligation type: Ligation and resection (tubes tied)
Patient hometown: Lebanon, Oregon
Side effects of getting tubes tied?
Most women will not have symptoms after tubes tied. Some women will have symptoms. At A Personal Choice we have documented an extensive number of cases of women who have endometriosis of the fallopian tube and symptoms after tubal ligation.
Sometimes these symptoms are not related to tubal ligation but many times symptoms can be from the tubal. We advise our patients to be evaluated by their doctors and if no other medical conditions can be diagnosed then consider tubal ligation reversal surgery. If patients want to become pregnant then it is reasonable to consider tubal reversal surgery even sooner than you otherwise might.
Over 90% of our patients report improvement after untying their tubes. If you are having symptoms after tubes tied then you should consider having a direct evaluation of your tubes through tubal reversal surgery.
