Pregnancy After Tubal Reversal And Endometrial Ablation
Hi Dr Monteith!
I know your busy but I just wanted to update you on me. I was a tubal reversal after a endometrial ablation patient. I had my surgery with you October 2015.
Well I am 8 weeks pregnant with a baby that has a 144 bpm heartbeat! I already let you know about this. I think I’m further along myself but I’m not the doctor so I’m sure I’m probably wrong lol! But, I was having some complications with bleeding and a abnormally shaped sac. Come to find out the OB thinks there was a pair of identical twins sharing a sac and one vanished and that’s why the sac was shaped weird. Interesting that this can happen but it’s a blessing because I would be so overwhelmed with twins.
My OB has never dealt with a woman pregnant after an endometrial ablation. None of his coworkers have either so they all don’t know what to do with me. No doctors around here seem to have dealt with this. But, so far so good. All the glorious pregnancy symptoms and a baby with 144 heartbeat. So far so good.
Just wanted to let you know about this because it’s interesting to me at least. Thank you once again for helping me and reversing my tubes. I can’t thank you enough!
Have a great day!
Patient age: 37
Tubal ligation type: Tubal rings (bands)

Can you have tubal reversal after endometrial ablation?
We have two requirements for you to be considered a candidate for ligation reversal surgery after endometrial ablation:
- You must have regular periods
- You must complete an office/phone consultation
Regular periods. To be considered a candidate for tubal reversal after ablation we require you be having regular (every month) periods of at least three (3) days duration.
If you are not having regular periods or these periods are less then three days duration then we cannot consider you an acceptable candidate for tubal reversal. There are no treatments to increase the health of your lining if your lining has been damaged by an ablation procedure.
Office/phone consultation. We require all patients who have reversal at our facility after an ablation to have a mandatory phone or office consultation with Dr. Monteith before they can schedule.
The purpose of this consultation is to fully inform patients about the potential risks of pregnancy after an ablation procedure.
