Is Pregnancy Possible At Age 43 After Tubal Reversal?
Dr. Monteith,
We are so very blessed and so thankful for the reversal that allowed us to have our beautiful daughter. Words cannot express our gratitude.
We are so very thankful to you and your staff for giving us the opportunity to have a child together.
I am 43 years old and this was such a “long shot” for us and yet it happened. We are grateful first to God and then to you (in that order) for the birth of our healthy and beautiful daughter.
If it can happen for us, it can happen for anyone who goes to Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center (A Personal Choice) for their reversal.
Patient age: 43

Can you get pregnant after age 40 with tubal reversal?
Many women mistakenly believe it is harder to become pregnant after age 35 because they feel that after age 35 they will be considered too old.
Most women are aware of the concept of Advanced Maternal Age…or AMA. They often misinterpret the AMA title as meaning they are too old to become pregnant. AMA simply means each pregnancy after the age of 35 is more at risk for unique pregnancy related complications such as gestational hypertension (high blood pressure of pregnancy), gestational diabetes (diabetes of pregnancy), and birth defects.
AMA has nothing to do with the ability to become pregnant. Although it is harder to become pregnant with increasing age, pregnancy is always possible if you are having regular periods. The chance of pregnancy after age 40 with tubal reversal surgery is approximately 35%. Although each pregnancy will be labeled as ‘Advanced Maternal Age’ the vast majority of these pregnancies are normal, healthy pregnancies born to moms with more experience than the rest!
