There has been a lot going on with A Personal Choice over the last year.
A new doctor joined our practice. We stopped our RPA program but then restarted it. We created a TikTok channel. We even started offering minimally invasive no scalpel vasectomy in Charlotte North Carolina.
Not only have these things happened but we have planned many more exciting changes over the course of 2026.
Many of our website visitors and patients have been asking us many questions about the changes.
We thought we would take the time to updated everyone on what is going on and try to provide concrete answers to many of the changes we have undergone.
New tubal reversal doctor
We were pleased to have welcomed Dr Paul Harris to our tubal reversal staff in 2025.
Dr Harris has been a great addition to our staff. He has over 20+ years of experience in the field of Ob/Gyn. He has taken care of many normal and high risk pregnancies. He has delivered many babies and taken many bed side photos with happy families.
Not only does he have experience with delivering babies but he also has extensive experience in difficult gynecology surgeries. Dr Harris left a position as a UNC Gynecologist to help provide tubal reversal surgery to patients.
For more information: Learn more about Dr Harris
Dr Harris has been exclusively providing tubal reversal surgeries with Dr Monteith and A Personal Choice since 2025. He also took it upon himself to start a tubal reversal TiKTok channel for A Personal Choice and he has been ‘influencing’ all of us with great content!
If you would like to get to know Dr Harris then we encourage you to visit his TikTok channel to hear what he has to say about tubal reversal surgery. You can see one of his popular videos below.
Dr Harris has also been learning to provide vasectomy reversal surgery. He has become extremely accomplished in providing reversal surgery to both women and men.
In order to help introduce Dr Harris to more patients, we extended a discount to patients scheduling with Dr Harris in early 2026. The discounts were extremely popular and most of the January and February patients took advantage of these discounted offers. These discounts still exist but will stop at the end of March 2026.
You still have time. For March patients who choose Dr Harris will get $500 discount applied towards their reversal surgery. Surgery must be completed in March of 2026
Starting April 1st 2026 patients will pay the full price for reversal surgery with Dr Harris.

Are we planning any more discounts this year 2026?
Currently the Dr Harris surgery discount (which ends March 31st) is the only discount we have at this time.
We are not planning any additional discounts for the rest of the year.
Most patients like to schedule reversal surgery starting in April and continuing all the way until end of September. Since this is the busier time of year we find we don’t have a lot of time or availability to offer tubal reversal discounts.
Discounts will still be offered to RPA members when discounted surgery times are available. More info on the RPA below.
Are we planning to raise the price of reversal surgery?
Yes and no.
We are raising the cost of vasectomy reversal surgery starting in April 2026. We do not currently have plans to raise the cost of tubal reversal surgery…but this could easily change.
Starting April of 2026 the price of vasectomy reversal surgery will increase. For more information visit: Cost of vasectomy reversal surgery
We currently have discounts with patients who choose Dr Harris for reversal surgery but those discounts will end March 31st 2026.
We do not have plans to raise the cost of tubal reversal or Essure reversal surgery this year but that could always change. Nothing stays the same in life and we all know prices and the cost of services increase as time goes on….nothing get cheaper with the passage of time.
If you are serious about having reversal surgery then you should consider starting a Reversal Prepayment Account or RPA.
Lock in surgery price with RPA!
We have been bipolar with our RPA plan.
We stopped it in early 2025 only to restart it at the end of last year. The RPA plan was such a great thing for patients we decided we just could not let it go. So we brought it back.
Our Reversal Prepayment Account (RPA) is a great way to lock in the current price of surgery for the next three years. As we all know things only become more expensive with the passage of time. Almost nothing (at least nothing you really want) becomes cheaper with time.
We don’t have plans to increase the price of surgery this year but we can’t say the same about the next 3 years. There will almost certainly be an increase in the cost of surgery between now and 2029.
Our RPA allows you to lock in the price of surgery now! All you have to do to start an RPA is the following 3 steps:
Step 1. Complete RPA prescheduling questionnaire and pay a scheduling fee
Step 2. Complete prescheduling phone health interview with a nurse
Step 3. Return signed RPA contract and initial contribution of at least $500
Once you start your RPA you have 3 years to schedule surgery. If you don’t schedule surgery by the third year then your account will be closed and you will be refunded all of your money less a $500 RPA administration fee.

Is Dr Monteith retiring? Not exactly
When people saw a new doctor coming on staff the next logical question many asked was Dr Monteith retiring? The answer is no but he is changing his schedule.
Dr Monteith is definitely not old enough to retire. He just turned 56 and he still has three kids in college!
Dr Monteith will be performing tubal reversal and vasectomy reversal one day a week… so patients wanting to have surgery with him still have the option of doing so.
Vasectomy saves women’s lives
Dr Monteith has long been interested in vasectomy. He is especially concerned about the the unfair burden women suffer when it comes to being the ones in the family who always have to be the ones who get tubal ligation.
Vasectomy is safer for men than tubal ligation is for women but women are usually the ones who have to step up to get their tubes tied.
Vasectomy has these advantages over tubal ligation:
- Easily done in the office
- Easily done under local anesthesia
- Low risk of side effects
- Lower risk of failure
Vasectomy is so much better yet many women are always having to be the ones to step up for the family. Why are the men not getting vasectomy?
No Scalpel Vasectomy Charlotte North Carolina
Dr Monteith is passionate about providing vasectomy to men. Vasectomy is a women’s health issue. Dr Monteith is opening up an office dedicated to minimally invasive no scalpel vasectomy in Charlotte North Carolina. He will be working in this office on Fridays.
Dr Monteith is going to be spending more of his time expanding vasectomy services in other locations. Dr Monteith has recently created a new site to expand vasectomy and mens reproductive health.
Dr Monteith offers men single visit minimally invasive vasectomy. This is a no needle, no scalpel vasectomy. The procedure can be done in 15 minutes in the office under local anesthesia. Patients only need 24 to 48 hours off of work. This is the safest vasectomy procedure around.
For more information visit: His Choice Men’s Health
Not only will men be able to more easily schedule single visit vasectomy, but soon Dr Monteith will be offering a greater range of services for men’s reproductive health. Stay tuned for more information!
What will Dr Monteith’s schedule be?
Dr Monteith is going to reduce the amount of time he is available for tubal reversal and Essure removal/reversal surgery. Don’t worry because Dr Harris will be holding down the fort!
Dr Monteith will be providing reversal surgery approximately one day per week. Patients will still be able to schedule tubal reversal and vasectomy reversal with Dr Monteith in the near future and Dr Harris will also be available to provide these same reversal surgeries to patients.
During the other days of the week Dr Monteith will focus on expanding men’s health services. He will be traveling to other locations to open up offices so men don’t have to travel so far to get the best vasectomy procedure around.
In March of 2026 Dr Monteith will be opening His Choice Charlotte and offering minimally invasive vasectomy procedures to men in the Charlotte area.

The next office Dr Monteith is planning on opening will be in Richmond Virginia. He expects to have that office open before the end of 2026.
Thinking about tubal ligation? Make him get a vasectomy!
Vasectomy is so easy! When you see how easy our no-needle, no scalpel vasectomy procedure is you will easily say how unfair it is that men have it so much easier than women. Tubal ligation must be done in an operating room.
A vasectomy with His Choice is a 15 minute office procedure under local anesthesia.
Don’t believe how easy vasectomy is?
