Pain can be a symptom of PTLS, but more frequently women will experience a greater pain in the search for a sympathetic health care professional to listen to their symptoms.
Karen was just such a patient. After having a tubal ligation she began to experience symptoms and had trouble finding both a reason and a diagnosis. She has contributed her personal story about what she experienced after her tubal ligation.
Karen was a recent patient of A Personal Choice and this is part two of her personal contribution. Part one of Karen’s story is: Tubal Ligation Side Effects? Then Undo Tubal Ligation.
Below is a continuation of her story…
Tubal Ligation Reversal: My Answer
By July of 2010, I was tired from no sleep, traveling the country to see and hear doctors and trying multiple protocols that were providing no relief. My husband and I decided to take a break from doctors, medicines, and supplements and ask God to lead us where we should go next. A couple months later, an aunt mentioned that I might be suffering from symptoms of post tubal ligation syndrome.
We began a thorough investigation of what it is and doctors who “treated” it. We spoke to many of the doctors we had previously seen and got a wide variety of perspectives and answers. We soon found that very few doctors believe this is something that exists.
Only one of these doctors encouraged us to consider having a tubal ligation reversal.
Undoing Tubal Ligation
After months of research, we decided on Dr. Berger at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center.
Initially we had come to this decision because of his history in performing the surgery, the technique he uses, and that he does it as an outpatient surgery. These would all be reasons I would express to someone considering a tubal reversal, but now I would add that it was one of the most pleasant experiences I have encountered in the medical field.
We traveled to Chapel Hill in January of 2011 for my tubal reversal. Dr. Berger spent time consulting with us, looking over blood work, and listening to the countless doctors and diagnoses I had received. He shared statistics of women also suffering from PTLS and the changes they had seen since their tubal reversal. It does not take long to see he is genuinely interested in helping people and making the changes he wishes to see in the world one patient at a time. His office and surgical center are extremely comfortable environments and the staff is caring, considerate, and very friendly.
Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome Treatment
It has been one month since our visit to Chapel Hill for a tubal reversal for my post tubal ligation syndrome treatment. The staff at Chapel Hill has gone above and beyond in following up with me and making sure I don’t have any questions or concerns. They are available and helpful to answers questions and were very helpful in our days following the surgery. They have been genuinely interested and excited in the results we have seen.
PTLS Treatment
Our post tubal ligation syndrome treatment results have been phenomenal being four week post-tubal reversal.
The biggest blessing is getting to sleep four to five hours a night which hasn’t happened in over two years! My periods have been less painful and the accompanying symptoms have almost been alleviated. My acne is almost non-existent, my hair isn’t falling out (as much!), my joint and muscle pain has been relieved, I have had no nausea or vomiting, and I feel much better overall. My friends and family have witnessed and experienced firsthand the miracle of this surgery as they have supported us through a very tough two years and see the wonderful changes through tubal reversal.
Post Tubal Ligation Pain: Our Hope
Our hope is that any woman experiencing similar symptoms after a tubal ligation will be encouraged to seek after the reason she is experiencing these symptoms. There is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Berger has been given a gift that he is sharing everyday with women across the country and that A Personal Choice is the best place in the world to have a tubal reversal.
