HSG X-rays After Tubal Reversal: Use A Grain of Salt!
I had my reversal in May of 2017. In May of 2018, I had an HSG x-ray and was told my left tube was completely blocked and my right was blocked but they were able to open my right tube by pushing a bolus thru the tube. The specialists were pushing IVF but my husband and I felt like we needed to wait.
We both believe in God’s presence in our lives and strongly felt led to wait at least 6 months before considering IVF. On November 4 2018, I had a surprise positive pregnancy test. On November 5th, I miscarried. Despite the sad outcome of the miscarriage, I was elated that I was not only able to conceive on my own but the baby had implanted in the uterus.
On December 3, 2018, I ovulated and on December 17th I had another miraculous positive pregnancy test. On January 4, 2019 I had an ultrasound that confirmed the baby, at 6 weeks 2 days old, was in my uterus and everything looked great. Interestingly, the doctor stated that it appeared I ovulated on my left side which supposedly was blocked and impossible.
She agreed with Dr. Monteith that HSG x-ray’s are rarely accurate. I hope this will encourage older patients not to give up! The impossible is possible!!!
During my miscarriage, the support that I received from Dr. Monteith and his team thru email was truly a blessing and kept me encouraged. I really appreciate everything you guys did from my surgery thru supporting me even now. Thank you.
