Before I had my tubes tied in 2018, I was healthy and happy and never had any problems with my periods or intercourse. I had a high sex drive and my body always felt good. I never had any aches and pains or depression. I was thin and had a low energy level but nothing concerning.
After I had my tubes tied in 2018, I started having massive migraines, I gained 40 pounds, I was so tired all the time I couldn’t drive because I wasn’t able to focus well. My periods were excruciating and very heavy and I bled almost all month long.
I had to go to the ER on one occasion because of the pain, not knowing what was happening. And the doctor told me that was just how my periods would be from now on and I would need to be on birth control. My relationship with my husband was ruined, I couldn’t have sex anymore because of how painful it was and I was severely depressed.
Finding Out About PTLS
I would wake up at night all wet from sweating and hot flashes all day. I thought I was going through early menopause.
I regretted getting my tubes tied because I wanted another baby badly. So I started looking up reversal options. That’s when I found out about PTLS.

So I had my tubes reversed 5 years later. I immediately lost 10 lbs. I immediately got my sex drive back and everything felt great again, became pregnant. I immediately had a ton of energy and the night sweats headaches and hot flashes stopped.
My Marital Relationship Was Restored
My relationship with my husband was restored. My baby is 4 months old now. I did have a chemical pregnancy soon after my baby was born. But since his birth I’ve lost another 20 lbs, my energy level is really high, I still feel incredible, no headaches, my hair looks shinier, I’m not having any of that pain in my ovaries like I had 24/7 after my tubes were tied. And my periods are back to normal with no cramps light flow and last 3 days just like before I had my tubes tied.
I’m most grateful for the baby and my relationship with my husband being back to normal. There are zero problems with intercourse now. My husband says about my tubal ligation vs. after the tubal reversal… that what he noticed after getting my tubes tied my sex drive went down and it was unpleasant for both of us and we always had to stop. And the sudden weight gain and depression.
After getting it reversed he noticed I was back to my normal self, lost weight and I felt whole again, I wasn’t depressed, I felt like a woman again, and our sex life was normal again without pain and it was pleasurable again. I am so glad I got that surgery it gave me my life back. I would have never committed suicide, but I was so depressed and embarrassed of myself around my husband I felt like life wasn’t worth living anymore. I always tell people now “don’t get your tubes tied!”
And I’m worried that doctors are now taking women’s tubes out completely so they don’t have the option of reversal. I am so grateful to Dr. Monteith for fixing me and giving me my health and life back. And I got to have another baby too.
