Hi Dr. Berger,
I was a tubal reversal patient in January 2011 for PTLS. I hope this finds you and your staff doing well.
Just wanted to give you a great update on my labs through the summer and fall. (I’ll give the brief history.) Prior to coming to Chapel Hill in January my TSH had floated between 5.0 and 10.3. I also had thyroid antibodies present for Hashimotos. I had not had a normal period up until this point. Since the surgery, my TSH has remained below 3.5 and my thyroid antibodies are almost non-existent. I have not had ONE SINGLE IRREGULAR cycle since the reversal surgery.
We are still patiently working through minor symptoms with nutrition, but the bulk of the issues are out of the way thanks to the tubal reversal!
I often wonder how many women are walking around with thyroid issues due to a tubal ligation they had years ago and are able to make no connection between the two.
We are so thankful for our time with you and will be encouraged for the rest of our lives by what we have seen the body accomplish in less than a year. Thank you for accomplishing a miracle in our lives.
I will continue to update you on what we see and please let me know if we can be of encouragement to others in any way.
Karen I.
