Choosing between reversal or IVF?
When you have had tubal ligation you have three options to have more children: tubal ligation reversal surgery, in vitro fertilization (IVF), or adoption.
Tubal reversal
Tubal reversal at our facility costs $5900 and approximately 60% of patients will become pregnant. Tubal reversal allows you the chance to become pregnant every month and more than once.
IVF
The average cost of IVF is $14,000 for each cycle attempted. The average success for each IVF cycle is 38%. We do not perform IVF at our facility.
Tubal reversal or IVF
Both tubal reversal surgery and IVF can provide pregnancy success. Couples should choose the treatment they feel will work best for them given their unique situations. Tubal reversal can be more successful and more affordable than IVF because tubal reversal allows you a chance to become pregnant each and every month.
Vasectomy reversal can also be more successful than IVF because sperm recovery rates are much better than the success rate of an individual IVF cycle.
When only a tubal ligation procedure or a vasectomy procedure are preventing you from becoming pregnant then reversing those procedures can often be a great way to restore natural fertility and provide you with the chance to become naturally pregnant.
