Second Essure Reversal Is Born!
I am happy to report the birth of our second son, all thanks to Dr. Monteith and his team.
My husband and I could not be happier with our choice for an Essure reversal back in 2013. Our first son Nicholas was born in January of 2015, his birth came with complications. My uterus ruptured at 36 weeks 3 days, so we planned our C-section this time at 35 weeks 2 days, to hopefully avoid another rupture. We were successful and gave birth to a very sweet and healthy baby boy. Vincent Jon was born on August 8, 2017. He weighed 5 pound 3.3 ounces and measured 18 1/4 inches long.
So once again we thank Dr. Monteith and his team at A Personal Choice for fulfilling our dreams of having a family. There are no words to express our gratitude.

Complications Of Essure Reversal?
Essure tubal occlusion is one of the most difficult types of tubal ligation to reverse.
Essure reversal surgery performed by Dr. Monteith is safe and effective. Between January 2008 and August of 2017, Dr. Monteith has performed over 400 surgeries to remove and reverse Essure. The chance of pregnancy after Essure reversal is approximately 40%.
Although Essure reversal surgery is safe for the appropriate candidate, the main risk of surgery is the risk of possible rupture of the uterus during future pregnancy. This complication is uncommon but serious and can occur late in the third trimester.
To date this uterine rupture has been experienced by one of Dr. Monteith’s Essure reversal patients (the mother of this baby who subsequently had her second Essure reversal baby without complications).
To minimize the chance of uterine rupture, Dr. Monteith recommends a c-section with all pregnancies after Essure reversal surgery.
More information: Risks of Essure Reversal
To reverse Essure with any reasonable chance of success a tubouterine implantation procedure must be performed.
Although other doctors claim to have Essure reversal procedures that do not require a c-section, women seeking Essure reversal to become pregnant should be aware:
1. The procedures of these doctors have never been evaluated by other physicians.
2. Their surgical techniques have never been reviewed within the medical peer reviewed literature.
3. These doctors have very few Essure reversal pregnancies as proof their surgical techniques are successful.
