Can you get pregnant if you have had a fimbriectomy? Can you get pregnant if you have short tubes?
Well this patient had both and easily got pregnant. One tube was less than 3.0 cm and the other tube was repaired by reversing a fimbriectomy.
Many doctors will not attempt these reversal procedures because they think it will not work. Although the chance of pregnancy after a fimbriectomy reversal procedure (40%) is less than after a standard tubal reversal (70%), fimbriectomy reversal can work and provide women an alternative to in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
