Getting Pregnancy With Burned Tubes
Thank you all staff and doctors!
Patient age: 36
Tubal ligation type: Coagulation (burned)
Patient hometown: New Franklin, Missouri
Can you get pregnant with burned tubes?
Many people mistakenly believe that once your tubes are burned …you are done! No more having babies the natural way!
Many doctors perform burned tube tubal ligation procedures…these procedures are commonly referred to as tubal coagulation tubal ligation procedures. There are two ways of burning tubes…bipolar and monopolar coagulation. Over 95% of coagulation tubal ligation procedures are bioplar. That is good because bipolar is less destructive to your tubes.
The good news is tubal coagulation can be reversed. So if people are telling you burned tubes are not repairable and you need to do either in vitro fertilization (IVF) or adopt then you are being provided incorrect information.
We see a significant number of women who have burned tubes. Most of these procedures can be reversed. To see the comments left by these women:

Can you actually reverse burned tubes?
How to reverse burned tubes?
The best way to start is to obtain your tubal ligation operative report and then send your operative report to our office for review. The operative report can usually be obtained from the hospital where your surgery was done. Most hospitals keep records for up to 10 years.
Most burned tubes can be reversed but tubal coagulation is one of the types of tubal ligations where it is helpful for us to look at the operative report to decide if you are a candidate. Unlike other types of tubal ligation procedures, tubal burning is very dependent on the doctor. Some doctors burn a small amount of tube and some burn larger amounts.
Most doctors burn a small amount in the middle of the tube and we can usually repair this and provide you a great chance of having another baby after your tubes have been burned.
If the report is not available we can usually safely perform your surgery but we will recommend a screening laparoscopy.
