Liposuction during reversal surgery: unsafe, dishonest and unethical!
Earlier this year we educated women about the unethical practice of requiring liposuction during reversal surgery in heavier women. Not only is requiring an unnecessary procedure unethical, but it is also dishonest to claim liposuction increases the success of tubal reversal.
There is absolutely no evidence supporting this claim.

My liposuction experience: Horrific, ugly, pain, unhappiness
I had a tubal reversal five months ago. My BMI was 35 and I was told I would have to have the lipo with the reversal even before I saw the doctor. As I was meeting with the doctor for the first time, the nurse questioned the need for the lipo, as I carry most of my extra weight in my legs and bottom, not my stomach or waistline. When I questioned the doctor, he told me that in order to pull my uterus outside my body, those extra couple of inches of padding would prevent him from being able to perform the surgery as well as he could if they removed the fat. I consented to the lipo.
The recovery was horrific…not to mention that I have the ugliest/strangest looking mini muffon-top ever. When they say lipo…they are only taking off about three inches about your lady-bits…so you have a hard stop where your fat begins and your fat ends. When I wear jeans now, I look like I have a mini-pendulum hanging belly like you see on morbidly obese women..even though I only have a few extra inches of belly fat.
On top of the pain and unhappiness with my new look….I had an HSG ran today and the tubal reversal failed on both sides. It almost makes me wonder if he even tried to repair my tubes. If I had it all to do over again, I would have researched more instead of going to what ended up being a tubal reversal farm.

Do not do the lipo! I am in a large amount of pain and swollen
I was required to have lipo or as my Doctor called it (mini lipo) and my bmi was only 36. At first he wasn’t going to do the procedure at all he said I was to over weight!
But he didn’t have a problem when I paid him all this money in the beginning when he knew how much I weighed.
I have had two c-sections and recovered quickly after each! It has now been a week since I’ve had my procedure and I am completely unsatisfied!
I am in a large amount of pain my stomach is so swollen I look as if I’m 6 months pregnant. It is horrible. Please everyone Do Not Do The LIPO!!

Liposuction during reversal surgery: I wish I didn’t do it
I went to a practice that required liposuction if you had a higher BMI. I really did not want to pay the extra $1000 but they required it and liposuction seemed like a good thing to do. I wish I didn’t do it. I took me longer to recover and it was painful and had to wear a compression thing for 3 weeks. I really did not notice a difference with the liposuction. I also had some drainage from my incision and had to see another doctor because they would not answer my calls. I wish I had come to A Personal Choice.
