Can you Get Pregnant With One Tube?
We are commonly asked if pregnancy is possible with one tube reversed?
Although most reversal patients will have two fallopian tubes to reverse a few patients will only have one tube. Some women have had a tube surgical removed during their reproductive years. Other women will have lost a fallopian tube after they have become pregnant from tubal ligation failure. Pregnancy after tubal ligation failure will often be an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy. Many women who have a tubal ligation failure will end up losing their tube because they are unaware of being pregnant and the ectopic pregnancy will often by advanced by they time these women seek care from their local physicians.
Pregnancy is definitely possible with one tube reversed and we commonly have patients report pregnancy when only one tube has been repaired.
